We bought a new Jeep yesterday and there is one thing that I am wondering about. I was just upstairs thinking about this question and who would possibly know the answer and it hit me "The budget board will know!" :goodvibes

When we got the price we wanted at one of the dealerships, I remember that thru my work, we can get a discount using the Chrysler Affiliate Program. You have to go to a website and get a control number to give to the dealership. I asked the Internet sales guy, what the price was using this program. He pulled up the invoice and said that the Internet price was actually lower and that the program would not lower the price any farther.

When we went to pick up the Jeep, they asked about the control number and asked if I would get if for them. I told them that since it did not lower the price, I did not see a reason to go thru the trouble. Then they went on about how Chrysler needs to see that these programs are being used so that they don't take them away, blah, blah blah.

I told them I would look into it and call them if I could get it. They seemed VERY interested in getting this number.

So, my question is, does anyone know if the dealer gets some kickback from this program? and, if so, How much?

When my husband uses the Chrysler employee pricing plan (in past it has been extended to him through a relatives employment and a special promotion) I believe it was $500 to the dealership. Depending on which plan you were able to use the dealership may not have done you any favors. I remember my husband paying thousands less than sticker on a modest car.

Thanks for the added info! I was thinking it may be about $500 kickback that the dealer gets. We did better negotiating ourselves without the discount. If they ask me about the control number, I may just ask them for half! LOL
