While I know this is not a disability like needing a wheel chair it is a disability that will interfere with my tour of Disney. I get one a day at least some times more. What would be some recommendations from people who deal with problems while standing in lines. If I get one I will need to get me and ds(3) out of line fast so I can stop it clean up and not loose son in the process. Also after I have one I am a little dizzy for a few minutes and if I do a lot of moving around it sometimes starts back up. My main fears are:
1. Loosing track of son while trying to get out of line.
2. Having my son have to listen to rude people about me moving through line that think I am trying to cut.
3. Getting back to line only to find a long wait that we had already waited in.
4. Grossing out people with blood while I try to get it all to stop.
As it gets closer to time for the trip the more I think about it and get to panicking. When I first booked the trip I thought no problem we will just go to the bathroom and I will stop it and clean up. I never gave all the logistics a thought. Now that I am I am wondering the best approach to take.

I would definately reccommend using fastpass for longer lines. Also, have you thought about carrying tissues and a water bottle with you if you are stuck in line or watching a show?

Now you are going to think I'm:crazy2: but my oldest has nose bleeds to bad that once it looked like someone was shot in the bed she was sleeping in while at WDW. Then a co-worker told me her grandmother would drop keys down the back of anyone who had a nose bleed and it would stop it. So I said right sure it did. Well the next time she got one I did it and no kidding it stopped.

Just last month the person in the office next to me had a nose bleed I told him don't ask questions just drop your keys down you back and well it stopped.

I do carry tissues and water with me. However as far as water goes they will not let me carry it into shows. I also have baby wipes with me to wipe of my hands and face. It still is not possible to really just stand there in line and get it to stop. It grosses out people. I get dizzy and need to sit. It takes several tissues and blood is sometimes dripping from my nose while I try to switch tissues. I really need to get in private and stop them. My ds is use to it but other children get scared at time when they see it. I guess I mainly want to know the best way to get out of a line or show with out disturbing others and not loosing my ds. Will they let me in to sit at the end of a row or let me wait in an area besides the line if it is a maze to get out of. If so were do they have you wait and how do they keep track of when it is your turn. Also will the let me cut back in like if I have to leave or should I just go to the back of the line. This just seems so stupid to me and I should have planned this out better so I had another adult with me for the trip. Now I just feel like my son will be spending a lot of time just waiting for moms nose to stop and wondering if he will get on the rides. DD will be with us at times and she will just stay in line and meet me afterwords but this is the exception not the rule.

I am desperate so please explain just how you do this. I will give it a try.

I just grab a key ring with keys on it. You know your house or car keys. Then just drop them down the back of your shirt. I don't know how or why it works but it does.

Here's another Idea while it won't stop the nose bleeds it might help to keep from freaking out others so much.

Carry a red or black wash cloth with you in a baggie damp in your pocket, back pack or what ever. Just like when we use red or dark colored cloth to keep kids from seein their blood when they hurt themselves it will keep others from actually seeing so much blood from you.

I'd look at the racks of bulk wash cloths see if I couldn't find a bundle of dark colored ones before investing in a bunch of cloths at full price tho. These could also pay off at home too as they hide the stains better than lighter colors.

Have you been to a doctor? My former bf used to get chronic nose bleeds, about one a day. He never went to a doctor for them, but when he joined the military, he was forced to. They cauterized something in his nose and the nose bleeds stopped for good.

That is a good idea. I usually just use white at home so I can bleach. I try to be so careful when it happens out in public. Some times people freak that I might get blood on them or touch something they will touch even if I have wiped my hands with a baby wipe and used a hand sanitizer. They however do not know what is wrong and blood is not something you want to mess with so I do understand that part.
We haven't tried it yet, but there is a product called NasalCEASE for nosebleeds. You can request a free sample at http://www.nasalcease.com/.
Thanks will try it.

This is a side effect to some other problems so I never thought about discussing this with my Dr. I just look at it as something I have to live with. I will bring it up with her. Maybe it is something they can do before my trip. That would be great.

Years ago mid to late 60's my brother had nose bleeds too chiropractor helped him come to find out he had some twisted verdabras in the upper part of his spine more in the back of his neck once that was fixed he didn't have near as many nose bleeds.

High blood pressure can sometimes cause them as can sinus problems.

I recommend you see your doctor- a nosebleed a day (or more) is not normal, regardless of what other medical conditions you have.

If you need water to clean up, keep a bottle of water in your backpack/bag. Plenty of folks carry bottled drinks with them into shows and on rides- Disney even sells bottle straps!

If you do need to get out of line, I really don't think people will think you are cutting. First of all, you will be heading in a direction opposite to them, and second, the blood pouring out of your nose should give away the fact that you are in need of attention. People leave lines all the time because they don't want to wait, someone needs the restroom, don't want to ride, etc etc. Trust me, you will not stand out to thousands of people, only the handful or so closest to you in line will know.

Both my Daughters have Chronic nose bleeds.. once a day as well, usually seasonal though. I would say just be prepared, don't worry about 'other' people. If your older Daughter is with you then I would, if you have to get out of line for a situation like this would be to have you and your kids stay together, exit the line, approach the CM to let him/her know of your problem, and make sure your Daughter helps watch your son. I am assuming she is old enough by your note about meeting up with her later.

We did this once and the CM at the ride gave us a 'FP' or rather a Return Ticket. This was not due to a nose bleed at the time but another type of issue that we could not stay in the line (DD wet her pants) that we already waited for about 20 minutes in, we cleaned up DD and came back with the ticket he gave us. I find if you prepare well, and , are calm if it occurs , make a good plan for when it does , you should be ok. We just came back out , no problem (Splash Mountain Queue) just alot of excuse me's, saw the CM at the place we exited, explained , he smiled and said, go ahead and take care of it and gave us a Return ticket.. No questions asked.. I wasn't demanding, I just asked if we could get back on the FP line if we came back and that is what he did.. So Don't worry.. you don't know when and if it will happen in a queue, just be prepared. If you get hot and dizzy, then rest a little in the cool air at First Aid.
