Anybody seen the trailers for this? This is supposed to be a movie based on the book, "Skipping Christmas" by John Grisham. Has anyone read the book? It's really funny, but I wonder if this movie will live up to the book...::shrugs::

I haven't read the book, but I've scene the trailer. I think it looks good. I like Tim Allen, Jamie Lee Curtis & Dan Akroyd.

I read the book and I don't know that the movie will capture it very well. I'll still see the movie anyway, though :D .

I haven't seen the trailer yet but when is it premiering in the theaters?

I read the book based on recommendations here on the DIS and I enjoyed it so I had DH read it too so we will most likely see it.

As an aside, we also plan to see: Incredibles, Polar Express, Spongebob Squarepants all showing this November.

I'm looking forward to this movie - I loved the book too. With no hockey this year, we'll be looking for other things to do on the weekend (not that we went to many games, but we watched a lot on TV.) I don't have little kids, but I want to see Polar Express too.

I loved the book, but I just can't picture Tim Allen in the roll...I kept picturing Gene Hackman when I was reading it...and I know he is an accomplished actor and all, but he would have been perfect for this roll. For the wife not sure who I pictured, but JLC doesn't seem to fit either. I really like her tho, so I hope she pulls it off.
Most movies fall a bit sjort of the book tho.
