i just want a job. any job. i've been looking for so long, and as the OP said, it's very discouraging. i have the skills, but i've been a SAHM for 11 years, and no one will give me a chance. i couldn't even get hired as a cashier at k-mart.

For all deployed military personnel to come home safely. 2010 was not a good year for my friends...one's husband came home injured, and another was killed

For myself and my dad to find jobs - as well as everyone else who is currently searching.

I wish that I could find a new job too. I'm grateful to have one when so many people don't but the one I have is so horrible that I can't help but be upset most of the time. I work for a truly evil company.

I will get my big Christmas wish which is to wake up next to my husband on the Christmas morning. This doesn't happen often and of course he is pulling a 12 hour shift that day also.

I wish comfort for our friends who are hurting. Several people in our old unit have lost their loved one. My husband lost 2 very good friends. Only time can heal them but I can pray.

My secret wish is a baby. I feel like something is missing in our house and I know it's a child whether one from my body or one that is waiting for us to find him/her. I hope that soon, very soon, we can complete our family.

I will keep the other posters in my thoughts and wishes as well.

My wish is that my birth mother reestablish contact with me. She located me several years ago, had contact with me for a few, and then shut down all contact without telling me why. I miss her.

These are wonderful wishes...I will be praying for them also.

I would add that I wish for a desk job. I am thrilled to finally be working after almost 2 years of unemployment, but retail is hard on my ankle (I broke all three bones in it earlier this year) and such odd hours. I would also love if my older daughter could come to MD for the season. And if Santa put divorce papers under my tree I would be okay with it. (Biggest upside of the year was leaving my husband and seeing my girls happy for the first time in a long time)

Well I'd like to have loved ones back, but that's impossible.. So..

I would wish for all of my DD's health issues and permanent injuries to disappear so that she could return to the career that she loved so much for 13 years - unit manager at a residential group home for troubled teenage girls.. She misses that job so much (and her "girls"), that 4 years later I still catch her crying about it now and then..

I wish that all those who are hungry, have a good meal and a full tummy. That all those who are cold, find warmth and security. That all those who are lonely find comfort and friendship. To all those that are struggling, to please hang in there and wishing things were better for them.

On a more personal note i am hoping that my sons best friends mom has a good result to her bone scan on the 24th and that her masectomy that she is having on Jan 12th is a sucess and that her chemo does not wreck havoc on her body as she just turned 50 and is not done raising her kids...........

My personal wish is that DH and I will have a fluke and not have to go through the fertility treatments we're starting to look into/schedule.

that our house that we have for sale actually sells soon. Paying two mortgages is NOT fun. I could talk DH into a trip to WDW if we could sell that house

My Christmas wish is to find a good job in the Tampa, FL area, so my girls and I can make our movie to Sunny Florida after the new year as planned. I also wish that my Ex won't make too much of a fuss and the girls will transition well (they are excited about the move)!

I also wish for families in need right now, I have been in that situation before! I also wish scientists can make discoveries this next year to help with and cure diseases, such as autism (we have two boys affected in our family, and my girls have ADHD) and cancers!

I plan on being with family for Christmas this year, and I wish everyone, especially our service people would have that opportunity to spend time with family over the holiday season!
