I have some friends that want to see the decorations at the monorail resorts.
I know at times parking is only open to resort guests.
Do you think we would have a problem parking at FW, taking a boat to the MK and then jumping on the monorail to go to the resorts.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
Jim

I agree with Cousin Ed C-he is a man of few words.

If parking is only open to resort guests, that means the resorts are full too. The Fort is notorious at busy times of the year for not having space in the parking lots because campers park their extra vehicles, tow trailers, and storage vehicles in the overflow lot. It can get downright impossible sometimes. That makes it tighter than a couple of the resort hotels.

Of course if the parking is not restricted, then any of the theme park lots will work. Or those two new massive parking decks at Disney Springs.

One alternative I would offer is that since one half of Wilderness Lodge is closed down to convert those rooms to extra DVC units, that parking lot might be under utilized even during the busy holiday season (unless they are parking construction equipment in there - I don't know because I haven't been to WDW since March). It has boat service to MK also so they will probably have better luck there. Just an idea.

Bama Ed

PS - Christmas week is the worst, most crowded time at the Fort. Halloween is only bad on that day but from 12/25 to 1/1 the parking is rough at the Fort. At all the other resorts no body is trying to use an 18 foot truck to park a 43 foot trailer. :drive:

Why such a short truck. I think mine is 22 ft. :duck:

And I'm with Paul on a 43 ft Aliner. (That would be interesting. Might take more than 1 person to lift everything into place though.)

But WOW.... Imagine the Head room! :D
Maybe even 2 story?

I agree with Ed, except for the 18 foot truck thing...mine is 22 feet. ( And don't give me any of that "It's not the length it's how you operate it" stuff either)

FW would be a bad choice as I can guarantee it will be full that week and the overflow lot will be packed. I would also suggest the WL and boat over to MK.

When we were there this Past week (Week after Thanksgiving) The overflow lot was typically full then too. What I found interesting, is that they are apparently now using the grass field to the left of the exit (by the Overflow lot) as well. So you leave out the "Back" and hang a left and the field right there on the left (between the Exit road/Overflow lot and the Stables) is now being used in that capacity. That's great and all, but I hope they don't get rain, otherwise some of the equipment may be hard to get back out.

That is what we refer to as the "overflow" to the overflow lot. There is another grass area across the road that is used as well when the overflow for the overflow overflows...

@SouthAlabama5er posted on prior trip report about having to disconnect from from his 5er to help pull out a class A in that lot because it was wet.

I guess the "Ultimate" overflow to the overflow of the overflow is the TTC. Let's just hope THAT doesn't overflow.:duck:

Sadly my Truck seems to SUCK in the mud conditions. I guess my tread isn't aggressive enough. It does what I need it to do though, so I can't complain about it (too much)
