Christmas Week - Table Service or Quick Service

Hi everyone!

I am trying to decide between the Disney dining plan and the deluxe plan. Next year when we go our children will be just shy of 17, 15, 14 and then the youngest will be 12. We have never been over Christmas, and I am wondering with the crowds do people book table service or prefer counter service?

Also, our older two boys are already eating us out of house and home, would the deluxe plan make sense?

I like a nice table service on Christmas Day. Otherwise I prefer quick service meals the week of Christmas. I just hate being tied down when there is so much to see and do. But it's important to avoid quick service eateries during peak times of the day in order to avoid long waits.

In-park, TS is a good idea during high crowds. QS can have dreadful lines.

The main differences on DxDp is that all credits can be used TS, and you get an appetizer at menu TS. With very hungry kids, buffets may make sense, which means no appetizer. It is just a matter of how many sit down meals you want per day, keeping in mind crowds and how much time they will take.

If cost is not a consideration and you plan on signature dining, Dxdp can be a lot very thing.

In reality, it does take up a lot of time. Consider each signature meal is min of 60-90 minutes plus transportation time. Each ts is also usually at least an hour plus transportation time.

Also, many have two meals and snacks, esp if hitting a buffet in there

My advice is to go to your local restaurant, everyone order an app, entree and dessert then go walk for an hour. That is the reality of Dxdp in Disney. Then plan on doing that a couple times a day.
