We have been to Disney several times, including the week between Christmas and New Years in 2017- but, we have always stayed onsite & during our Christmas trip we stayed at the Yacht Club. This year, we will be staying off site at our time share from Dec. 23rd-30th. We are not planning on going to the parks on Christmas Day and we are considering extending our stay and moving to the Yacht Club for the 30 &31st.
My question is if you have stayed offsite this week what strategies would you suggest? (Other than FastPass). How was your experience? We can not go at another time & we are definitely staying offsite. I think I am most concerned about Magic Kingdom, due to having to park at the Transportation Center. I think we will try to go on the 26th. What time should we arrive at the Transportation Center to be able to be in the parks when they open to offsite guests. Our son uses a wheelchair, so we will be driving our own van- uber is not really an option.
When we went in 2017, it was busy, well very busy- but, still seemed manageable and for us, it didn't really seem that much more crowded than our first trip during the summer months- and we didn't have the heat to contend with. But, I realize that we were able to schedule all of our fast passes 60 days out & we did take advantage of the extra magic hours (the morning Magic Kingdom seemed the most worth it). And we only used the Disney Transportation (and they had the express buses, that would take you from park to park...which I think the discontinued).
