Christmas Week--Jedi Training a must do--How early to get there?

My friend and his family are at Disney. His sons want to do Jedi Training more than anything else. They are new to this stuff and I'm worried they with the busy Christmas week they will get shut out if they aren't at the gate early enough. Anyone have any experience/insight on what time Jedi fills up during high crowd times?

If they are at the gates to HS 45 min before they start to let folks scan through, should make it about 1 hour before posted opening, they'll be fine.

Excellent point. Depending on how much park time they want to dedicate to signing up, they may want to adjust their arrival time. The earlier they get to the gates, faster they walk to the internal ropes and sign up spot, the quicker their sign up will go. If they want to try and shorten their sign up time it may be worth getting to the gates even more than an hour before. You are going to be waiting somewhere, so just need to figure out if it's going to be waiting for the park to open or waiting while the park is open.
