I know I still haven't left for this trip yet and I'm already planning the next but I needed to get the dates confirmed so I could change the date of my spare travelodge booking from next week that I stupidly booked wrong, which I thankfully have now!...

Can anyone tell me how busy it usually is the few days leading up to Christmas? We'd have gone earlier in December but I don't want my DS missing his first Nativity or anything. They break up really late this year (not until the 21st!) so they will miss the last 1/2 days only.

I don't mind if it is busy, just want to make sure we're prepared!

We'd be coming back Christmas eve, does this usually make a huge difference to Eurostar prices? If so we might drive again instead (prices are already up and just normal prices) but I'd rather go Eurostar that time of year if we can.

I can't help with most of this but have you tried phoning Eurostar for Christmas prices. Fares go on sale earlier than they do online. You can only book up to 10th Nov online but I was able to book our trip 26th-29th Nov over the phone last week. Might be worth trying to price them up to give you a better idea?

Hope the plans go well! Christmas is my favourite season at DLP. I always go at the end of November because it starts my Christmas off perfectly!! :santa:

Thanks, yeah I may well give them a ring once we're back from this trip but I can't afford to book them just yet anyway so if they do shoot up then we'll drive.

I can't wait to experience the Christmas season at DLP, I really wanted to go last November but couldn't so I'm hoping it'll have been worth the wait! You really have done a lot of November trips haven't you?!!

Arrive on the Thursday if you can because it will be cheaper than arriving Friday/Saturday. In 2010 our girls broke up from school on Thursday but most schools didn't break up until Friday so we did a surprise trip leaving straight after they finished school and spent Fri/Sat in the park leaving Sat evening. It was cheaper to arrive Thur and stay 2 nights than it was to arrive Fri and stay one night!! The parks were really quiet on Friday - BTM 15 mins. The park was much busier Saturday but not mad but it was snowing and very cold so I expect it would have been much busier if the weather had been better.
