Cast Members: Amanda (25) loves Disney and everything about it. Really wanted to go at Christmas.
Brian (26) also lover of Disney cant believe we only had 20 days to plan this trip.
Susan (30-ish) HUGE Disney fanatic, this trip is her fault.
Eric (30-ish) lover of Disney, cant wait to try sushi
We have mere hours until we leave to go and see Mickey Mouse! This whirlwind trip was planned in exactly 20 days. Can you believe it? Thanks to the wonderful help of Wendy from Magical Journeys we had the best Christmas vacation ever.
At 1:45 p.m. my BIL Jeff came and picked us up to go to the airport. Back in February when we went Jeff had to pick us up at 5a.m. I think he prefers the afternoon flights better. Our flight leaves exactly on time at 3:50 flying Southwest. Since our last trip my FIL gave us a portable DVD player so for once I did not have to hear about how bored my DH was during the trip. Instead we kicked back and watched Oceans Eleven during the flight. Any time I can watch George Clooney, Brad Pitt, and Matt Damon all in the same movie is a good time!
They announce they are in the final descent. Now I know this should be exciting we are getting ready to land we are in Orlando! But my mind is flashing WARNING WARNING! THE GROUND IS NOW APPROACHING AT A VERY FAST SPEED! IMPENDING DOOM IS INEVITABLE. Of course we landed safely Whew!
At 7:05 our flight lands at MCO I have never seen the place so empty! No fighting the crowds as we head to our first monorail ride and zoom over to the baggage claim. We arrive to find our neighbors Eric and Susan waiting for us. And we are off to the car (once we find it).
During the car ride we all discuss how hungry we are and head to Downtown Disney to the Earl of Sandwich. This will now become an obsession. The place is packed all the time but the food is incredible! I mean absolutely delicious. Every time during the trip if anyone was hungry they would suggest we eat at Earls. Dining reviews are to follow.
We moseyed around the Marketplace doing a little bit of shopping here and there. Then headed to Beach Club Resort. Eric and Susan are DVC members so they have a studio there and we are bunking on their pull out couch tonight since we couldnt get a hotel room for that night. Once there we unpack the camera and decide to go check out the Christmas decorations.
Beach Club first since we were already there the décor at the beach club is beautiful! Everything is very bright in color with lots of reds and pinks in the tree. The carousel is a work of art with how ornate all the detail is and you can smell the ingredients. I have lots of pictures posted just click on the little house icon. We then went over to the Yacht Club now we have never visited the Yacht Club before but this is my kind of resort! DH and I loved the dark woods. Also the decorations here really stand out the huge ship ornaments in the tree are really really cool.
Okay off to beddy-bye since we have all be traveling today and are very very tired. Of course none of went to sleep right away and were up all night talking in the room like we were 11 years old. After finally thinking of all the characters names in the The Waltons and saying good-night to them did we finally fall asleep.
