Tonight we began phase 1 of setting up our tree and decorations for the house for Christmas. I'm sure some of you have much more elaborate decor, but I thought I'd document how it's going here. Please join in and post your progress,, it'll be fun to compare notes. Our goal is to have this place looking ready for Santa by Sunday night.

There was a prelimnary step last weekend when we got the boxes out of the attic and brought some of them to the living room, while others wait at the top of the stairs. We also brought down some stands for the Disney Christmas Village buildings.

Tonight DW and I setup our 7.5 ft pre-lit tree.We placed our Mickey tree-topper on the top section and we plugged in the lights just to make sure everything was connected properly:thumbsup2 We also unboxed most of the Disney Village pieces we have. We both worked all day today so I think we're done for tonight. Total time as of Wednesday evening: approx 100 minutes.

Next report please...:santa:

I set up our kid's tree about 2 weeks ago LOL, I couldn't stand to wait a minute longer. I am still tweaking it, bought a new tree last year and it is bigger so of course I need more ornaments.

I finished the LSU tree today in the kitchen and will get the family tree up hopefully tomorrow night. DH is off to the camp to hunt for the weekend , so he MUST get it set up tomorrow night before he leaves. We will decorate without him but that is par for the course since I married a hunter.

I still have our village to set up and all extras.

I will post pics soon on the holiday thread.

We have that same goal to be ready for Santa by Sunday night! Friday, DH will do outside while I do The Village (we all love it, but it is a PITA to put up and take down!) then we will assemble out pre-lit tree to be decorated Friday night or anytime Saturday! We all have to be together for that with hot chocolate and Christmas music! I already have a ton of wrapped gifts to put under it!!

I got all of my lights up outside a few weeks ago, last weekend the Boy Scouts delivered the garland and since it was 60 degrees I hung that. I will have DH get the decorations out on Friday and I will start putting stuff up on Saturday/Sunday. We will put the fake tree up this weekend too. If we get a real tree we will wait a couple weeks for that.

We've just spent another hour or so putting ornaments on the tree so we're just under 3 hours of total time invested now. I'm thinking we have another 2-3 hours to go to complete the tree and get the village set up.

Then there's the issue of the monorail set. Hmmmm...DW and I will be the only ones to see it, not sure it's worth it. :santa:

:rotfl:I am thinking about vacuuming the room and then thinking about going down to the basement to get the decorations.

Baby steps Connie, baby steps;)

I had to do some work, but DW continued decorating the tree and after about 2 1/4 hours the tree is now decorated! Village set is still waiting to be setup. Still procastinating about the monorail stuff.

My goal is to have the tree and lights up by Sunday night.

Step 1 - get myself off the couch and my turkey stupor to decide where in the world I'm going to put my tree this year! :rotfl: We added a tall, skinny shelf to our living room/den decor this year and it sits right in the perfect spot for my Christmas Tree! I wonder if my DH would notice if I moved it in front of the back door. :rolleyes1

Step 2 - get up in the attic to haul all that decor/tree/lights out of the attic. Yeah, that could take all evening! :scared1:

I vow to get started on Step 1 this evening during the football game. I make no promises about step 2 and beyond. ;)

The blow-ups were out the last weekend of Oct.
The indoor decorations went up 11-22
The tree went up today after dinner (we always eat Thanksgiving dinner arond 2) and I will decorate the tree a little later tonight.

Edited: The tree is decorated.

I need to finish painting our family room first. Hoping to get that done by Saturday afternoon. Then it's on to decorating. This is our first Christmas in the house and I don't have a ton for decorations or a ton of money this year for decorations so I'll make do. Next year!!!

OK you win! Painting the room AND decorating...with a baby on board:eek:
Take it easy, you'll get it all done.:)

We will decorate without him but that is par for the course since I married a hunter.

Ain't that the truth?

Ah well. So long as he keeps his mouth shut about recreational shopping, I"ll keep my mouth shut about hunting.

Hang on there, buckaroo.. I haven't even left the lake yet!! :rotfl:

DD and DGD will probably want to start the decorating sometime next week.. Dson-in-law is coming up here on Sunday with a crow bar to pry me out of this place..:lmao:

Mine's up and mostly done. I always do it the night before Thanksgiving and finally quit messing with it sometime after midnight last night. I still have a few more ornaments to get up but don't feel like it ATM; I'll be done by tomorrow night, for sure.

i've had my tree up, decorated, and with wrapped presents under it since before halloween. :rolleyes1

Step One: The chrismas tree was put up last weekend. There will be a break in decorating for at least a week. It depends on my mom's schedule. It will however be 100% complete by december 18th, our annual christmas party. ;)

The Christmas Tree went up a couple of days ago. Not sure when I will get around to decorating it, though.

I'm going to shoot for having everything up by next weekend. I put out the Christmas linens today, as well as the door wreaths and outside flags.

I am mostly decorated for Christmas now, I just put the fake tree up and put the lights on, we will decorate it tonight or tomorrow morning.
