Christmas Tree in your room?

Do you have a better picture of the taller tree than what is on the florist web site? I am thinking of getting it for my 4 year old daughter next week, but I wanted to get a better look at it. is the Castle on top pretty?

I am just taking a 3 ft prelightted tree (We are driving from Bama) with all my Disney ornaments and Tink topper to set up in our room. It wont take but 10 minutes to set it up, and Im also taking some Disney decorations to put around the room. I loved the Disney florist tree, but I couldnt budget it in.

True we wont be in the room much, but when we do get back to the room with the GF turndown service, with the lamps on low and my xmas tree lights, it will be so cozy! Its worth the little extra effort!:cloud9:

we take our own tree and mickey head wreath...and last year i left the mickey head wreath for another disser when we left..you can take your own for under 10.00 and if you dont want to haul it home leave it for another family. we are going next christmas and taking a 4 ft tree and some other things to pretty up the room.

Things we've done:

We've brought a card stock (flat) tree that we hung on the wall with a push pin. It came from a school supply. We also strung lights around the window. We used little peel and stick hooks to hold them up. They came right off the glass when we left.

One year at BWV. We went to Wal-mart and bought a small (~30") fiber optic tree and set it on the small round table. There isn't a lot of extra space in the 1br. We just put it back in the box and checked it on the way home.

Another year at OKW, we bought about a 5' tree locally. There is plenty of extra floor space at OKW. We brought lights and garland from home. In the first couple of days at WDW, we bought plastic character key chains and just hung them on the tree. They make nice souvenirs too.

(Wal-mart and Christmas tree shopping are just two more reasons to have a car at WDW.)

DH and I bring a 4.5 ft pre lit tree from Target that we bought a few years ago. The box fits nicely in the trunk. We bring some ornaments from home, but every year we add a few Disney ornaments. Tree is out and ready to be put in the Car on Monday Night and heads for the BWV on Tuesday Morning!!!:yay:

Last year I bought a little tree at the Dollar Store (yes - it was $1.00) and brought it in my luggage, along with ornaments and lights. Here is a pic when we were in our studio at BWV, before moving to a 1 bedroom. We put the tree on top of the entertainment cabinet in the 1 bedroom. It looked so cute but I forgot to take a picture!

This seems like a stupid question to ask but...
Can you bring a real tree into the OKW grand villa? Not a small one, but maybe like 4 ft?

My wonderful husband had the large Disney Florist tree set up as a surprise for me when we were at the BWI last week. It's beautiful and comes in a nice base with a castle tree top and other ornaments. It was an additional $50 to be packaged and shipped home.

What size is that tree? The website does not say. Is it bigger than the 2' one?

I don't know where your friend is staying but we just returned from AKL and there was a tree in our room. Fully decorated. It was put up by the mouskeeper. We only know this because we passed her in the hallway and she told the kids she left them a big surprise in the room. It was great.

This is the tree I bought for my wife last year through Disney florist. Had it delivered to the room while we were out. They (Disney florist) only delivered to the hotel. The hotel staff delivered it to the room. No setup.

With the base it stands approximately 48".

We had about a 5' tree in a 1br a few years ago. I think that you could have just about anything you want in a grand villa. The living room is two stories. I don't remember if there is a single or double entry door.

I can't imagine that a small tree would be a problem. You might want to call and ask the front desk. It didn't even occur to us that it might be against the rules.

Thanks for the repsonse. Was your tree real?

The tree was about 4 feet tall (in base). The tree top is adorable - it's a blue castle with white clouds at the bottom. The clouds have a felt texture. I'm anxiously awaiting its arrival via FedEx....

We had just returned from California Grill around midnight and the amazing concierge turned off all of the lights and only had the tree on with Christmas music playing. It was such a fun surprise!

I broke down and bought one. I will post a pic when I get back. sadly, it wont be until after XMAS tho.

My daughter will love it though, we are having them put it up the night we get there while we are out at dinner. It will be a nice suprise for her when we get back to the room.

I don't know if you could bring a real pine/fir tree into the resorts, due to allergy and fire issues (conifers are very flamable). The "real" tree that Disney offers is actually Boxwood. Of course, they do have the boxwood topiaries at a lot of garden centers (like at Lowes, Home Depot, or The 9th Level of Hell [Wal-Mart]).

Does the Minnie and Mickey come with the tree? I ordered one from Disney florist but they didn't say when they will deliver it:(

There are two trees on the Disney Florist website both with the castle topper. They appear identical other than the Mickey and Minnie. For the tree with M&M, it says to call for price. I suspect Cinderella37 received the other one. What a great gift BTW.

We had a similar experience 5 years ago. Our eldest who had just entered the work force that year surprised us with a 6" Disney Florist tree on our first night at the GF. We entered the room to find it shimmering in the twilight. Special memory for us. They no longer offer trees that tall though.

Last year although we weren't at WDW in December, I ordered a tree from Disney Florist for home delivery. I love it. As ConchKahuna said, the trees are so well done and loaded with ornaments which are expensive in the WDW Christmas stores.

We love both our trees although the first holds a special place in my heart of course.

Oh, and there is also a little artificial fiber optic tree on sale at WDW this year. Only $29-$30 and just so cute. Feralpeg mentioned it in a thread a month or so ago and I went looking for them when we arrived in WDW after Thanksgiving. Very cute.

wow!

that is one expensive tree, at $365!

but yes, when you add up the prices of those individual disney ornaments that are hanging on it - it's probably close to normal in price...

Sorry for the slow response.

Yes, it was a real tree. Bought locally. We just put it on top of the rental car. It had one of those single use, nail on bucket stands. We put a couple of trash bags under it just in case. But, there were no problems.

Mousekeeping even put a couple of towel critters on it one day. :thumbsup2
