hi everyone. i'm going to wdw w/my family dec 7-16. we will be staying in a cabin in fw. my brother heard that you can pay to have a christmas tree in your room and he would really like to do this. does anyone know about this? would we be there too early to have one? how much would it cost, how big are they, etc.? thanks for any help.

I believe you can contact WDW Florist. They had, in the past, 2 trees available (2 different sizes) and come decorated. But, in my opinion, they are expensive. We are bringing our own tree for our first Christmas in WDW! I purchased a 4 ft tree w/lights from QVC at a really reasonable price.

Enjoy Christmas in the World!

:D :bounce: :bounce: :D

I've always wondered about this, too. I've seen them in pictures of various suites at the Disney resorts (I guess Disney puts them in all the suites during the holidays?) and they are beautiful. Let us know if you find anything out! :)

The last time this subject came up someone said that the cost was around $200 for the smaller tree as I recall. We're flying so a 4ft tree is out for us, but I just found the cutest 2 ft tree at our Dollar store for only $5 and it's not a bad little tree! Now I'm on the search for some really cute Disney mini ornaments! I figure since I only spent $5 on the tree I can spend a small fortune on the ornaments! Anyone know where to get mini Disney ornaments?:D

peachgirl - try disney's ebay site - i saw some great ornaments at good prices!

dreaming....Thank! I sell on Ebay and this never occured to me! I'm going shopping!

I believe I saw mini disney ornaments at our local Hallmark store.

A couple of years ago we spent Xmas at POR. My husband and I never thought of getting a tree. We had three kids and at the last minute we decided that we must have a tree for the room.

He ordered a 3 foot from the WDW Florist, all decorated with Disney ornaments (plenty of mickeys, minnies, donald, goofy, ribbons, and musical instruments)> Total cost - $150. When we were ready to leave I wanted to take the tree home (this was a fake not a real one) and I contacted the front desk. They packaged it for us and shipped it home, free of charge. Every year I take this tree out and put it in our dining or foyer area and it brings back many memories.

What I have done other Xmas we have spent, is we bought one of those fiber optic trees, that comes decorated, bought some more mini ornaments and put it in the box and resealed it. Upon arrival, unpacked, added decorations and every night we came to a tree atop our room table, in front of the hotel window, lit up. Decorated the windows with clings and decorations the kids did during the many park activities.

They have a 3.5 ft tree for $200 and a 6ft tree for $500.
They will set it up in your room completely decorated and they they will ship it to you home.

The cost includes the packing and shipping back home too.

At home I always order a couple of little trees from Jackson and Perkins..one for the foyer and one for my kitchen counter. They are little things...about two feet tall...but they're real with lights and tiny ornaments. I was going to order one for our trip to GF and have it delivered but now think I might drive so I'll just pack them up. They're $40-50 without shipping.

I found some mini disney ornaments at Target. They were boxed in a set of five.

They also have the Disney Princess Tree at Target, I think it was 4ft. It came with some decorations and you could puchase others seperately.

There is a Christmas store in DTD. You could make a trip over there and pick them out and consider them souvenirs as well.

I surprised my mother in December 1999 with a small tree from Wal*Mart and some Disney ornaments and lights. I think I paid $30 for the whole thing :).

It's been a lot of fun hunting for just the right ornaments...but I'm not getting much else done. I think we're going to get some here before we leave ( depending on just how many of those ebay auctions I win:D ) and then spend some time our first day shopping at downtown Disney for a few, that sounds like a great idea. I'll have to check our Target here. Wal Marts here had nothing in the way of miniature Disney ornaments.:(

hi there, i bought a 3 foot pre-lit tree at target 3 years ago. decorated it in non- disney mini ornaments i bought at walmart.
(little gold stars, mini snowmen, gingerbread guys, mini santas, etc.), they are soo tiny and cute!!! i tied them on the branches, so they will stay on. i set up the 3 foot tree in our family room for the 1st 2 weeks of dec. and the night before we leave for wdw, i pack up the tree in its original box, tape it up, and we check it with our luggage on the airplane. we put a luggage tag on it for i.d.
when we get to the room i unpack it , put it on the table, straighten out the branches, and we are good to go!!
our disney ornaments co on our big tree in the living room... that stays home!!!
so even if you can't find tiny disney ornaments, your tree(s) can be wonderful... little red bows tied on are fun, too.
don't forget to bring an extension cord, just in case
have fun!!!

Why don't you let the kids shop for ornaments while you are on your trip. They'll have great memories of their Disney Christmas vacation some day when they decorate their own tree.
