When does Disney begin to start decorating for Christmas both at their resorts and parks. Plan on going early to mid Novemeber 2008.
Thank you

We were at WDW on Nov 2nd this past year and there was already some Christmas stuff up so you should definitely see decorations in mid- nov.

The tree was up in Epcot and of course the stores had holiday merchandise :santa:

We left on Nov 7 and there were alot of decorations up.
I read by the following week mostly everything was decorated.

We usually go the week AFTER Thanksgiving, because we love seeing Disney decorated for Christmas!!!! Nobody does Christmas quite like Disney!! This year, though, we had to go a little earlier, and were there Nov 15 -21 (the Thursday BEFORE Thanksgiving).

We stayed at Coronado Springs, and it was very nicely decorated!! There were a lot of decorations up at the hotels, and the parks had most of their Christmas decorations up. We were a little disappointed that the Grand Floridian tree was not up yet - but the gingerbread house was up. Also, the big tree at Animal Kingdom Lodge was not up the night we had dinner at Jiko. I didn't realize at the time we made the reservations that the Candlelight Processional at Epcot doesn't start til after Thanksgiving.

It was a great time to visit - low crowds, wonderful weather!!! It just wasn't completely finished with Christmas decorations! But it was still beautiful - and I'd go again that week!!!!

Have a great trip!!!

My family and I are considering a trip early Nov also., either 12-18 or 16-22. Can we expect to see all the resorts already decorated with trees, edible decor, etc.?
I'm sure there are enough people here who can tell us about each resort and what decorations to expect to see around this time. Maybe we can compile a nice list. I realize that things do change annually, but it is a good reference/starting point.

Thanks everyone.

They usually start appearing RIGHT after Halloween...that first week. They are complete, usually, by the week before Thanksgiving. If you're going prior to then, you'll see some of the decoration, but likely not all of them.

Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party has begun on the 2nd Monday of November for the past couple of years. So the MK decorations are completed by then. Other parks are started, because the deadline is the day after Thanksgiving for everything to be ready. Some resort decorations are already in place by mid-November too.
