Are you going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? That's a lot of fun... especially for the age kids you mentioned. Try to plan one character meal. (Even though your kids are a bit older, they'll still enjoy it.) Chef Mickey's is fun and festive during the holidays. (Everyone dresses up in Christmas attire.) It's fun to resort hop a bit around the holidays, too. Even my 5-year-old enjoys the various decorations. (WL, BW, and GF are particularly cool.) If you'll be there after the crowds start building and you're staying on-site, make sure to hit early entry mornings. You'll get to do much more. Hope that helps some.

Hi Dawn!

Christmas time is definitely the best time to go. My 10yo DD & I went in 2000 & had a great time. We went about the middle of the month of December. The weather was perfect. Only one night we had to wear something over our t-shirts.

Visit AK - Camp Minnie-Mickey - all the characters were dressed in their winter & Christmas finest. We had our picture taken with Minnie & Mickey with our own camera. There were CMs there taking family photos with them - it was great!

My DD recommends MVMCP - she loved it!

The most crowded I saw it was after the Candlelight Processional at Epcot. We did CP & the dinner - it was beautiful. My DD thought the CP was borrowing.

Don't miss the Osborne Lights at MGM. MGM is not our favorite park, but we went just for the OL & loved them!

Chef Mickey's was great! The characters are always attentive.

My DD loved Port Orleans (now the FQ). We spent time at the pool almost every day. DD loved the pool with the dragon slide. There's a wading pool for the preschoolers. My DD had a hair wrap at PO & still loves it - it has last a long time.

If you have any other questions let me know. We loved it!

If you resort hop, the last few Christmas times I was there, they had competitions going on beween the resorts. Each one had a candy/gingerbread village dsplay. It was also fun to see the differences in the Chritmas tree decorations.
The parks have Chritmas themed shows. The Country Bear Jamboree has a special Christmas show too.
Pointsetta trees are very pretty too. This is my favorit time of the year to be there. Hope you have a GREAT time!

We love Christmas time- But do take clothes for all types of weather- we had a couple of chilly days and really cold nights. Dress in layers. Also, we love the CandleLight Processional. Make reservations for dinner and you get reserved seating for Candlelight porcessional so you don't have to wait in line. You have to eat anyway! It and the Osborne lights make Christmas seem so special. I've never been when the parade is going on because we were there the week after Christmas. It was very crowded but if you get up early and do early entry you can do a lot before 11 am. We love to resort hop too to see the decoractions. Do that stuff when the parks are really busy.
