We are taking out first EVER trip in December. We will have DS who will be 2 and DD who will be 5 months. Are there any Christmas MUST SEES? We are going to do the Christmas Party FOR SURE and see the Gingerbread house in the Grand Floridian......any other MUST SEES?

If you have the time, I'd see as many of the resorts as possible. They all have their own special decorations and I believe they all, or at the deluxe resorts at least, have gingerbread displays.

The Wilderness Lodge for one, is incredible during the holidays. If you can make it there when the handbell choir is performing, and get a seat by the fireplace... gosh, I can't think of a better spot there!

ETA: Don't miss all the different countries in EPCOT either!

Hi! They also offer Sleigh Rides during the holidays...I know at the WL for sure...and the WL is nicely decorated...It will be my first time in Dec as well...

Enjoy!

The osborne lights at MGM

The lighted arch w/ music at Epcot

The different lands at epcot w/ their holiday traditions

The Candlelight processional

Make sure you stop to really look at the christmas tree outside of Animal Kingdom. It is spectacular!! All the different animal masks are great. I took a close up picture of each one and make a really cute scrapbook page. I would post it, but I don't know how. :teeth:

I love the resorts' decorations so much that I'm making a day out of my Thanksgiving trip to go to BW,BC,GF,WL,AND AKL just to see the decorations.

Next to the MVMCP, you should visit the Santas around the world showcase in Epcot and watch the tree lighting at Epcot, too.

I would suggest Spectacle of Lights @ MGM, MVMCP, Candlelight Processional, Santa's @ Epcot and a sleigh ride to top it all off!!! Oh and a tour of all the resorts to see the decorations. You could even do a mini tour by hopping on the MK monorail and visiting CR, Poly, and GF. I can hardly wait now!!!! EEEEE!!!!!!

Have a wonderful time. We went for our first December visit in 2002, and we've been going back every December!

Get a schedule of Holiday performers at your resort, you may not have to go far for Holiday entertainment.

Bobbi :thumbsup2

Christmas time at WDW is the best time of year. My advice - see everything!!! Or as much as you can of everything! As noted above, all the parks and resorts are specially decorated so you can't go wrong wherever you go!

I agree with all!! WL & Gingerbread at GF. There was a lifesized CHOCOLATE carosel at one of the resorts on the boardwalk we saw one visit. I believe maybe it was at the Yacht Club & Beach Club. Definately the Osborne Spectacle of Lights at MGM. Check out this site also if you haven't already. Hope this helps :thumbsup2

I know this was already mentioned but Do Not Miss the candlelight processional.
It is truly amazing, it gave me goosebumps. :thumbsup2

We are going the week after Christmas. Will they have special events for New Year's Eve as well?

Just curious.
