Hi,
I am planning my honeymoon to Disney World for December 2010. I was wondering if I could get some information about the hotels at Christmas Time like, which one has the best decorations, which ones are must sees. I dont know which hotel to stay at and my fiance has never been at Christmas time so I want it to be really special for him. Pictures of the hotels would be nice to see too since I havent been able to find any photos with hotel Christmas decorations.

Does anyone also have any information about the sleigh rides at the Wilderness Lodge? The only information I can find is where it is and how much it costs, but is it worth it, and does anyone have any photos of what the sleight looks like or what you see on the sleigh ride?

Thanks!!

I don't have any photos, but my favorites are the Wilderness Lodge, the Grand Floridian, the Yacht Club and Beach Club, and the Boardwalk. All the deluxe resorts have beautiful decorations, but those are our favorites. The WL has gorgeous theming that goes well with Christmas decor. The other ones I listed have wonderful gingerbread and chocolate displays.

If you do want to stay at one, I recommend the WL. We just love the big fire places - it suits the "feeling" of Christmas very well. It is a more affordable deluxe too so you can maybe stay a bit longer.

Happy planning and Congratulations!! :goodvibes

We just spent this past Christmas at the WL and we loved it. We took the time to look at all the other deluxe resorts and found them nice as well. The GF was awesome as well; however, though I'm pretty much a free spender when it comes to Disney, I won't spend that much to stay there.

Congratulations!!!:yay:

My favorites are the GF and the WL.

Very different style of decorations, both lovely. GF has the huge tree and the giant gingerbread house. WL has that rustic log-cabin xmas look. If you look in the photo threads, you will see lots of photos with the resorts decorated for the holidays.

I also think that the BC/YC and AKL have nice displays as well. I'd recommend looking at their photos as well, then choosing by whichever resort suits you best!

:) Make sure you go to Osbourne Lights just before they turn on for the evening. Stand down hear the town square close to the manager scene. When they turn on those lights reach in your pocket and give him a special token of some sort...maybe a pin of his favorite character. I can't tell you how much that one moment in time moved me when I saw those lights turn on the first time.....very special. :santa:

We usually take an afternoon and tour the resorts looking at the decorations. I have to agree with the other PP WL is the best. Then you have to get over to GF to buy a gingerbread shingle from the gingerbread house in the resort. Honestly all the resorts are beautiful I thin the carriage rides are about 30 minutes long.

Mybe we will see you there.. We will be at AKV 12-01 thru 12/10. Have a wonderful time.

Disney World....the one place on Earth where you can eat dinner at a Luau and then be on the streets of NYC with snow and lights.:cloud9:

Here are some WL photos. I think WL is a very romantic resort, and the Christmas decortions are second to none.

Sorry for the sideways orientation, I haven't gotten around to fixing that in Photobucket yet.

Wow, they came out huge. Guess I need to fix that too. :)

Good luck with making your choice!

Thanks so much for all of the information. The Wilderness Lodge is beautiful. I think that may be the one that I will try to book! If we end up going with a moderate, I know I will at least take him to visit that resort and do the carriage ride!!! Do the moderates and values decorate for Christmas also or is it just the delux hotels?

All the resorts have decorations, but the deluxes really go all out in that department.;)

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding/honeymoon!
WL is our favorite during Christmas.
It is also the best IMHO during cold weather, because it feels warm/comfortable with all of the stone/fireplaces.
We stayed there for part of our honeymoon and really enjoyed the CMs. Everyone was extremely nice/congratulatory, and we received champagne one night from Disney (we figured it was from the front desk but we never found out).

So for your honeymoon did you do a split stay there and somewhere else at Disney. It looks like that may be what we end up doing, so I was just wondering if so which hotel you also stayed at?
