Christmas Time at Disney

We just experienced our first Disney World vacation at the end of October for our daughters 3rd birthday. Because we had such a great time, we are already planning our next trip for next year. My question is, is it really crowded at the parks for Christmas time? More specific, the first week in December? Thats what were thinking right now. Christmas is our favorite time of year and thought it would be great to be there and see all the decorations. Any advice would be appreciated. Thxs!!

I was at WDW the second weekend of December this year. The crowds weren't bad, except for MK on Saturday. The rest were totally reasonable. I spent Saturday afternoon exploring the different resorts and looking at the Christmas trees. You should be fine going that time of year, just look at easywdw or touringplans to help plan which parks to go to on which days. You will have a great time and the decorations are fabulous!

First week in December will be the PERFECT time to enjoy Disney at Christmas. You will have all of the holiday magic and NONE of the crowds.

Even in MK lines were almost non-existant. Stand-by for Space Mountain 20 minutes. Fantasyland might have had longer lines for some attractions, we weren't traveling with young children so I'm not sure.

We go to WDW often but hadn't been there for Christmas in twelve years, so we spent a lot of time focusing on things that are unique to the holiday. Saw all the parades, the spectacle of lights, the candlelight procession. We listened to the storytellers describe Christmas and/or Santa in all the different countries. We went to most of the resorts to see the tree and decor, each a unique work of art. Lots of gingerbread houses on display, including life size in Grand Floridian. Everywhere you turn there is something else to see.

That was probably one of my favorite trips overall.

We just returned from Disney ~ there Dec. 11-16. It was fabulous! Weather was perfect and not crowded at all. A lot of the rides were virtually walk on (except TSM, but it never is, just use FP and all is fine)! Attending MVMCP on Dec. 14 and IMO it wasn't at all crowded ~ we were able to meet the characters we wanted, ride rides, and take in the stage shows, parades, and dance parties with no problems.
