Dog gone it all, we just put the lights up Tuesday and apparently buying 5 strands at 5.00/strand is just too much for some do do, they decided to steal ours. 
They did leave the hung bulb lights though.
We were up until 1:30am this am and when DH unplugged them they were all there. Then this am, my 5.5 yr old son looks outside and says "the lights are gone". DH says, "no honey, they are just off". He says, "NO DAD, THEY ARE GONE!"
So, we decided to call the police. Should we have? I thought it would be a good lesson of right and wrong. Coincidentally, DS just had a field trip for K this week to the Police Station.
We've never had anything stolen here before and have lived here over 7.5yrs. It's frustrating. DH said it was probably kids. I think it was probably drunk, young adults.
