:cold: Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has ever done a Disney Christmas Theme? (any christmas inspired theme..lol) If you have, i would really be interested in knowing what it was and how it looks. And also what was the aprox. cost (if you want to tell me, if not no worries) Thx a bunch. :earsgirl:

hey there baby_becky716, congrats & welcome to the dis!

i'm not having a christmas wedding but it was a consideration at first, we love the christmas holiday but didnt want our families to have issues with time off & regular holiday plans. christmas tree centerpieces with ornaments, ornaments double as favors, christmas theme music, red, green, white & gold colors are all good ideas i've considered & heard. wdw decorates so beautifully & has special themed events like mickeys very merry christmas party & the candlelight processional and the weather is still nice in december.

wedding cost varies depending on an intimate wedding package (less than 15 guests with bride & groom) starting at $3000 m-th, or a custom wedding (any guest count over 12) which has a $10,000-$20,000 minimum depending on the day. room costs vary too, value (nov 27-dec 19) vs. holiday season and so does the crowds with the seasons. so plan accordingaly & save :) also check out & request some info from disney ftw http://www.disneyweddings.go.com

i'm sure there's some dis christmas bride who can share more insight too.

We had a Christmas theme for our wedding (12-13-03), and it worked out wonderfully. Here are some of the things we did to go with our theme:

--bridesmaids wore deep red dresses and carried bouquets made of white roses with red hypericum berries and holly leaves (Disney cut off the prickers on the leaves)

--my bouquet was deep red roses (the variety was called “Black Magic”) with hypericum berries and holly leaves

--our unity candle arrangement and table centerpieces for the reception were also made of red and white roses, white lilies, etc. to go with the theme

--we had a table runner made of garland with votive candles going down the head table

--we had wreaths (primarily made of greenery with some berries) on the pews at the Wedding Pavilion that were placed at the base of the floral arrangements at the reception

--our favors were little tins filled with meltaway mints. The tins were tied with deep red ribbon and had stickers with holly leaves on them on the top

--our reception venue (American Adventure Rotunda) already had a lot of Christmas décor such as several decorated Christmas trees, garland, and wreaths. That was wonderful, and even better, free!

Our website is down right now, but I will see if I can find some pictures to post here to show you the type of things we had once the site comes back up. :)

I also had a Christmas themed wedding (but not at WDW ) :bride: :groom:

I had the bridesmaids carry kissing balls with roses in them.

I put poinsettias in the church and reception hall (you can get HUGE ones) as well as decorated Christmas trees. (I bought everything on clearance the year before) After the reception, I gave away the poinsettias as gifts to friends and family who helped make the day go smoothly.

For centerpieces, each table had a small poinsettia, three votives with Christmas scented candles, and holiday colored Hershey's nuggets (candy keeps people happy while they wait for the bride and groom :) )

We gave away homemade hot chocolate in mason jars as wedding favors.

Before the wedding and during dinner, the DJ played Christmas music.

Instead of a gift table, people left gifts under a decorated tree.

The florist put a small string of christmas lights in my bouquet (it was an evening wedding)

My wedding colors were burgandy and gold.

I wore a cape to the wedding and reception (it's cold in Maine in late November

My wedding (in Maine) for 200 people cost about $12,000.

Happy Planning :cool1:

Thanks so much for responding. I just wanted ideas for a christmas wedding because a friend of mine is wanting to get married at WDW in decemeber and she wanted ideas on Christmas themes :)

Here are the pictures I promised to post of our Christmas theming. The first one is a picture of a bit of the existing décor in the American Adventure Rotunda (the Christmas tree and topiary were already there.

This one shows the wreaths that we used on the pews at the Wedding Pavilion (we later used these at the base of our floral arrangements at the AAR).

This is one of our centerpieces for the reception. Sorry the picture is a little dark (my scanner isn’t so great).

This is the garland with votives that was running down the head table (we had a large head table with the whole bridal party).

This is our unity candle arrangement that we moved to the head table at the reception.

This is another head table shot.

This is our Christmas themed wedding cake. It’s a little hard to see the details in the picture, but the bottom layer had our initials embossed on it, as well as holly leaves and berries. The middle layer had wreathes, and the top layer had snowflakes. Disney used “luster dust” to make it shine a bit. Also, they made little fondant icicles to hang off the cake stand.

ead79, I cannot view the pictures you posted, it all comes up as red "x"s i dunno y...lol. If you can't repost them that's ok, you have been a big help anyways :)

The site that hosts the pictures keeps going up and down again. I'll see if there's anything that I can do, but chances are they'll just appear again soon. :)

ead79 your pictures are beautiful! It makes me want to change my month from august to november or december. :thewave:

We also did a Christmas oriented theme and color scheme. We used red satin and dark green, we also had some green and red plaid with gold accents. All of the floral had evergreen touches in it. They are favorite colors, and I love that season!

:wizard: My goodness, Tiggerific is absolutely right! ead79 you look so beautiful and your wedding looked terrific. I loved your cake and your dress. Thank you so much for sharing you have been a big help. :)

You are all so sweet--thank you for the compliments. Disney did a wonderful job with everything we wanted. :)

Ead79, your pictures are soooo beautiful.

If you don't mind me asking, did you use a particular "style" for your table decor i.e. Beauty & Beast, Classic, etc.?

We are having our Vow Renewal Ceremony at WDW December 16 and are having a Christmas theme (with a Beauty & the Beast twist). Your tables are so lovely I thought I would ask.

Also, if you don't mind, did you use Disney Florist or an outside one? Your floral arrangements are so lovely. I would like to use someone who can work with my ideas and do the Christmas theming well.

Thanks, Lisa

Lisa,

When we were planning they didn’t have names for the particular table styles. We just liked those overlays and chair covers (they were on display at Franck’s when we were there), and we requested silver candelabras for the centerpieces. Disney did our floral, and they did a terrific job. We were so pleased with them. At our planning visit, they offered several good suggestions about what flowers we could use and they listened to what we wanted.

Since the colors are so similar, I think that you could do a Christmas theme with a Beauty and the Beast twist very easily. Just bring pictures of things you like with you to your planning visit and ask for suggestions if you need some.

Thanks for the info Elisabeth. We look forward to meeting with our Event Manager and looking at everything available for our ceremony.

Lisa
