If only it were that simple. I used to think that I would see a day somewhere down the road that it would come to that but as the years have gone on it seems to become more complicated. There are certain family members that you do have to put up with and for various reasons. In our case it is mainly the holidays that are an issue whether it be Christmas or Easter or whatever....I have no idea why.![]()
I have to disagree. you don't have to put up with anyone. Sometimes it is the kick up the **** people need. I didn't talk to my mom for a few months after the incident with my brother as she took his side after he abandoned his kids. When we spoke again I was able to lay down the ground rules and now if she steps over the line i remind her of our conversation. She doesn't like it, but she either accepts it or we hang out less. It's about setting limits. You can and should tell people that if they can't change their behavior you aren't going to be there. If they don't like it and are mad, who cares, you don't want to talk to them anyway.
