Hi all,

I know it's early, but does anyone know when the dates and tickets open up for the special events at WDW such as Mickey's Very Merry Xmas party, Candlelight processional etc?

We are flying down the day after Thanksgiving, staying at Hard Rock Hotel for 2 days, then to our home resort (BWV )for a week - it's our first time going in Dec and just want to make sure I make reservations for all the events in time!

The dates haven't been released yet, but last year, Osbourne Lights was open the weekend before Thanksgiving, CP started the day following Thanksgiving, and MVMCP started on the Sunday following Thanksgiving. HTH :)

As to when tickets go on sale, it varies widely from year to year. Sometimes CP goes on sale in June, last year it was late August. Last year MVMCP went on sale in late April, other years it wasn't until summer. Since you are going in early December, there's really no big rush for either. I got tickets for Dec 10 MVMCP the same day last year (Tuesday).

I'm assuming that you want to know when MVMCP tickets and CP Dinner Packages go on sale. Based on past years, it's early to mid-summer. I keep an eye on the Theme Parks Forum and the Restaurant Forum - someone always posts with the details shortly before (or just after) they become available.

FWIW, there's no need to be among the first to call for either event. It's not like calling for breakfast at CRT or a standard view at BWV or a GV at OKW. MVMCP tickets seldom sell out until closer to the date of the event. IIRC, last year, only a few of the Friday night parties were sold out prior to the day of the event.

Do call for your CP Dinner Package fairly early (within the first month) if you are absolutely set on a particular restuarant, PS time and CP show time. The more popular PS times and restaurants do tend to book fairly quickly. (Note that you willl need to pre-pay for this).

I have been for the past several years (since 1998) right after Thanksgiving and have not had problems securing either MVMCP tickets or the CP Dinner Package of my first choice. And I didn't have to enter the "dialing derby" for either, LOL!

Enjoy your trip - it's a great time to visit!

Could someone tell me what this is?? I know it stands for Candlelight Processional but that is all I know.

luvindisneyworld...where did you find the dates for MVMCP?

Never mind...I just saw your post a few spots down...sorry;)

We are going for our first winter visit early December. I don't think anyone answered what "CP" is. I sure would be interested in finding out also....wouldn't want to miss something. Thanks.

CP is candelight processional located in the american pavillion, WS Epcot.
