Is anything special done at Epcot for Christmas? Decorations? Singing?

Just curious...and if so where can I find more info?

Holidays around the world was really cool last year. They have representatives in each country (or most of them) that do a little storytelling skit thing about how the holidays are celebrated in that country. St. Nick was my favorite, in Germany.

They also have the Osborne Lights, I think, this year. We missed out on that one last year. (Apparently it's amazing - tons of Christmas lights)

They have a nice evening show on stage and a small parade with the lighting of the Christmas tree (characters)

The candlelight processional was something we purchased tickets for and decided to skip out on. People (even WITH tickets and priority seating) were lining up over an hour and a half before the show started. All to hear Lieutenant Dan (can't remember his real name) read a Christmas Story and to listen to music. Not something I'd recommend for little ones at the end of a busy day. :) My girls melted down massively and we passed our line tickets on to someone who was waiting at the end of the line.

It seems to me that with the candlelight processional we were able to choose a dinner package. We went to Germany - which had a nice stage show and band/dancing and all you can eat buffet. The apple streudel was great, as were most of the meats. :)

So that there is no confusion, Osbourne Lights are actually at MGM, not at Epcot.

But even without Osbourne Lights, Epcot is incredibly festive for the Christmas holiday. Lots and lots of neat stuff to do and see.

It is my understanding that the holiday season begins the day after thanksgiving but I'm not 100% on that

thanks - I didn't realize Osborne was at MGM. That was OUR FAVORITE park! :)

THe storytellers were great esp the guy in France. He was very entertaining tell about the customs of France. We loved CP and definitly will be doing it again. My niece (4yo) and nephew (7yo) loved it too. They really loved the trumpet players.

For the most part, the Christmas festivities in all parks begin right after Thanksgiving. Sometimes it takes a few more days to get all of the decorations up.

Be sure to make a point of stopping and watching/listening to the story tellers in each country!!!! I think Epcot is my favorite park during the holidays. Plan for plenty of time in World Showcase, then dinner and the CP. A perfect day in my opinion. I loved the story teller in Germany but dd loved the gnome in Norway the best!! Each country has a very different tale or tradition. Then Candlelight Processional at night. So very moving. Yep, there is a ton of stuff to do at Epcot during the holidays.

Nope. They don't do anything special at Epcot for Christmas. Just the same old park all month long. ;)
