We'll be seeing DH's family at Thanksgiving, and we'll exchange Christmas gifts then (clean up the turkey, then turn on the Christmas carols and light up the tree!) We need to get in the shopping spirit here RIGHT NOW!!!

But, there's a big problem. Huge.

It's 80 degrees outside. The trees haven't even really begun to turn colors! How on earth am I supposed to get into a holiday shopping mood and look at snowflakes and candy canes when we're still wearing shorts? :confused3

It's just not right. What to do?

Maybe I need to crank the AC down to 50 degrees, light the fireplace, put on hot cocoa and Christmas music and shop online... hmmm...

I am so not in the mood this year. It is still swimming weather here and it is not cold at all. I have to get used to Christmas in Florida. I went to the Christmas show at Dixie Stampede last night and that helped a little, but since I am moving on Thanksgiving weekend to a new house I am just not in the mood for anything festive right now.

Last year was our first Christmas with cold temps and snow. Before that it was X-mas in sunny So Cal!

Watching movies like White Christmas or your holiday favorite might help. Once youget the gifts and start wrapping that'll help too. Music is a powerful mood alterer so crank those carols up. It'll happen don't worry.

send some of your heat over here to scotland ;) it has got cold year very early this year although still doesn't feel like xmas coming up

Well, I actually heard a Christmas Carol playing in Walmart earlier this week. Personally, I find it much easier to shop in November than to wait until December, when there aren't even any parking places left at the mall!

I just finished the last of my Christmas shopping on Friday. We're headed to WDW in three weeks and I have some minor surgery scheduled for just after we return, so any Christmas preparations that don't get done in the next three weeks just aren't getting done!

This year, I had all of my packages for distant family members shipped direct -- what a time savings it was to get on the internet and shop while I was in my jammies. I even sent the family photos to Costco's photo place on the internet and picked up our completed Christmas cards the next day! The internet has made my Christmas preparations a lot easier.

Any chance you could sit down tonight and hit the 'net? Maybe rent a copy of one of the classic Christmas movies to have playing in the background while you shop?
