Christmas shopping is DONE!

Ughh. I haven't even though about it yet. The earlier I do it though, the more I spend b/c I just keep buying I have no idea what to get my kids 15, 12 and 9.

the problem with shopping so early is that i wind up overspending when i get caught up in all the madness closer to the holiday!

In order to avoid this, I keep a spreadsheet of everyone on my gift list. As I buy something, I mark it down with its price. At the end of the season, I know exactly how much I spent on everyone. It also helps me to keep my kids' gifts even.

I am done with DS2 and DD9 except for a gift certificate for DD to the park and rec for whatever class she wants to take. I can't really buy that until she picks her class and she keeps changing her mind.

As for DH and myself, I think we are gonna lay low this year. He needs socks..... I need underwear... That's really about it. I think he is looking at an e-reader for me though. But that depends on price and such.

You're funny. I called my SIL the other day to tell her to have her mother buy my kids saddle shoes and my DH a new iPod. She asked what I wanted and I told her I got everything I wanted for my birthday last week... a paper shredder. My needs/wants are very simple compared to my DH's... although I really would like a Nook for Christmas. Maybe I'll tell DH to have his mother buy me that, or at least give me money towards it.

ETA: My shopping is almost done. Just have to buy for the nieces and nephews and grandparents. I'm wrapping more today.

We have to pick up a used Nintendo DS for DD, and we're *done* with her! YAY! We got her some clearance Kai-Lan stuff at Toys R Us, and Target had Dinosaur Train toys clearanced at 30% off. SWEEEET!!

Everyone else is getting an ornament from Disney. Easy peasy.

I haven't started thinking about it.

My kids are old enough that they want all manner of electronic devices that we are opposed to them having. I have no idea what I'm getting them this year.

I am done with my mom, brother/wife, nephew.

My goal is to be totally done by the end of November.



I am a little over half done, I think. DH thinks I am crazy for trying to get it done early, but we have a trip to Vegas in mid-January, so the earlier we complete our Christmas shopping, the more time we have to save $$ for our trip!

And here I was all excited that I'd started. My mom and mother in law are done and a couple of other people are partially done.

I plan on waiting to get most of the things for my kids. My daughter is 3 and pretty fickle. I don't want to get something now that she won't be into anymore in 2 months. With my son, I want to make sure I get things that are right for where he is at the time. If he's already walking by Christmas (and he seems to be on target for that) I don't want to get a toy that helps him learn to walk.

Im about 90% done.. I'll be completely finished by next Friday.. actually on Black Friday I only need to go to 1 store.. I'll have everything else done besides that by that time..
