Hi there,

I love christmas shopping and got quite a few things in the christmas 09 sales for this year so am already doing well!!

I've not had a chance to read through all the post but will do throughout the day and will reply back then!!

Glad to have found others that like to get into the christmas spirit early!!

x

:welcome: to all our newbies!!! And for those who haven't started yet, don't feel behind!! I actually haven't started either!! LOL!! I will be working on my lists this week..we have a week off school,so we are going to concentrate on all the things we need to do for the holidays and our upcoming vacation.....unless it's stuff on line, I usually have my hubby take the kids for the day (starting with breakfast out) then I do all my shopping at one time. I do plan to get dd to really hone in on her AG wishlist so I can order early-last year we got her the just like you doll for Christmas, and around Halloween, lots of stuff was backordered!!! So, I like to get that done, but then she changes her mind! I think we are doing Lanie for Christmas this year..
well...enjoy your long weekend friends!!!!!

Got two packages of zoobles for $9.99ea at target today. There was only 1 package left besides the bigger items like the set for $24.99. The squinkes were all sold out but they did have a display so I could see them. Not sure what the big deal is, do they do something? They are only $2 cheaper than zoobles and at least they do something.

You're right the squinkies themselves don't do anything. I think it's just the little characters, zoobles and squinkies that everyone will LOVE> My dds all want them. I already bought 2 pk zoobles for each of my girls and I bought a 16 pk of squinkies and the deluxe cupcake set that comes with 9 squinkies and the deluxe gumball playset also with 9 squinkies. My girls see them in the stores and on TV and they are just like " AWWWWW HOW CUTE" Girls just LOVE stuff like that. Just like the zhu zhus. I still have to get a few more playsets, but they seem to be in more abundance than the characters themselves.

Same here in all the stores, just a few things left and nothing at most stores. If you want these this christmas, you'll have to get everything soon. I never start my shopping this early but I didn't want a replay of me trying to get Zhu zhus last year for weeks until I finally secured 3. :scared1:

I got the girls each the Frenzie fur real pet carrier that comes with a pet. My mom bought them each the wheel and the big playset for Christamas.

This week I was going to get them the Littlest Pet shop rescue center. I found it for 30.00. But since we are leaving in a few weeks. I may wait to get that until I get home.

So far I have
DD 5
Toy Story Mania Game hooks to tv
Zambi Fur real elephant
Winter LPS set
LPS Triplets
LPS big pack
Frenzie fur real carrier

DD2
Toy story mania game that hooks to tv
Zambi
Winter LPS set Stocking
LPS triplets
Toy story buzz and woody combo pack
Frenzie fur real carrier

Still need to get
Frenzie white dog black spots x2 Stocking
LPS Rescue house x2
Each leapster game
DD 5 Jessie
DD2 Buzz
LPS triplets x2 the new ones they came out with

Also some puzzle, books and craft stuff. They love the felt books with the bendy pens.

Got the girls this weekend the Frenzie Dog with black spots. He was sort of hard to fine. I found a huge LPS color/stamp book and a Tinker bell one so My oldest will get the LPS one and my youngest Tinkerbell. My mom got my older dd and my niece all the squinkle stuff last night at toys r us. She got them each a gumball machine, cupcake thing and a purple case and each 6 sets of the squinkles. She pretty much cleaned out our Toys r us last night. This isn't something I would have bought for my dd but Grammy thinks she needs it.:rolleyes1 I told her no big stuff this year so I think she thinks it is ok just to buy them alot of little stuff now. She is suppose to be cutting back.

Hey Everyone!!! :goodvibes

I finally found you Shawna!! :)

Well since most of our nieces and nephews live out west (6/9) and we were just out there most of my Christmas shopping is done!!! :cool1:

Lets see if I can remember what I bought for everyone...

Niece #1 (9) - book - Black Beauty
Niece #2 (7) - book - Alice in Wonderland
* also got them a game - Trivial Pursuit Family

Nephew #1 (6) - Lego set and some cars
Nephew #3 (4) - Spider Man car and some lego
Niece #3 (3) - Disney Princess Game

Nephew #2 (5) - Lego set and cars
Neohew #4 (2.5) - Cranium Game
Nephews #5 & 6 (twins ~ 4mos) bath toys and a Bible for when they are bigger

Now for MY little family there is ME (Kim), DH (Ken) and our two DD's (Emily9 and NAtalie 7) so far I have bough each of the girls a book!

A couple of Christmases ago they each received a Maplelea Doll which is the Canadian equivalent of an American Girl Doll. They have had clothes and accessories added to the mix over the last couple of years and recebtly the dolls were both taken to the AG store in Minneapolis to have their hair done!

I am interested in getting their dolls a My Disney Girl outfit each for Christmas but am unsure as to whether they will fit or not! Does anybody here have any experience with My Disney Girl outfits fitting AG dolls?? Our Maplelea dolls are 18inches and are exactly the same shape and build as an AG doll!

Other than that they are sorta interested in maybe trying pin trading on our next Disney Trip (Aug 2011) so we MIGHT get them started with a pin trading starting kit!

Other ideas are books, clothes and more lego!! My girlies LOVE their LEGO!!! :)

OOh, I'm curious about the My Disney Girl outfits too! I'd love to get some Disney something for their AG dolls.

I am looking to find a cute case for DD7's DS game. Target has pretty much nothing. Does Toys R Us have a good selection? Maybe I should look online.
I'm going to get DD9 an address/phone book. She's always asking me for her friend's phone numbers.

My list is getting a little better set. I never know what to get my brother or Dad. Dad doesn't want anything, really doesn't have any hobbies either. He's a challenge.

Hey Kim!! Glad you found us!!! Hope you get some good ideas and congrats on getting a head start on your Christmas list!!!!

Well, I stopped by a Kmart today and they were fully stocked of Zoobles...hadn't planned on buying any but since these may be a big hit this Christmas and I don't want to search high and low closer to Christmas if my girls decide they 'have" to have these I decided to buy some :goodvibes

I picked up several of the single packs and a few of the limited edition ones. They do seem really cute... No Squinkies there and none at Target when I went today but I'll keep looking.

I swore I was done buying for my girls but yet I can't seem to help myself :guilty:, much to DH's chagrin

I have to find something for my niece...she's 1 and I looked at the sing-a-ma jiggy things but they were just kind of 'meh' to me :confused3 and I thought perhaps she's too young. So the search continues..

So besides zoobles, squinkies and more zhu zhu pets I will be adding american girl dolls to my list.

My dd11 got Julie last year and really wants felicity this christmas. She also wants some pjs for them.

My dd9 and dd6 wanted one also, but I don't believe they will stay in good shape for long. They're too rough with their dolls. I decided to show them the bitty twins and they were ecstatic. So myself and some friends from work are going to travel to the american girl store in Boston one day in November for them.

Does anyone know if I can get the bitty twins I want in the store or do I have to do that online. Will what they have out be the only combination I can get? Say I wanted 2 girls a blonde and a brown haired one and they didn't have it out, can they do that in the store? I've never been so maybe they have tons of different combos already ready to go? Anyone know? I can always call and ask.

Thanks

You can get any combination of Bitty Twins that you want in the store and/or online. You can also purchase them individually at the store too, though that is slightly more expensive than buying them together. I bought DD4 just 1 brunette twin because she had birthday money to spend and wanted a doll and clothes so it worked out.

Have fun at the store! There's so much to look at! :goodvibes

Where do you live? The Boston store isn't really in Boston-it is in Natick.

If you don't live in MA you want to keep an eye out for a free shipping code. If you ship to a state that doesn't have a retail store you won't have to pay the 6.5% MA sales tax.

Ok well I got snaffued already. The boys found the mighty beanz stuff I had left in the car(foolish mommy) So the one item I have bought is now out of the Christmas bag so to speak.

I saw something today that I am thinking my 5 year old might like - it's Trio blocks but Batman ones. I'll be on the lookout for those.

I can't answer about the bitty twins, but if no one answers before I get to the store, I'll ask about that. We are only 20 minutes away.

You should get Felicity and any accessories soon. They are retiring both Felicity and Elizabeth and all their stuff. We have both dolls and they sent out a letter last week.

Well I just gave my MIL most of the ideas I had for my boys so now I have to start over, she likes to get her shopping done real early so she has bugging me for Christmas lists for a while. I was also going to get my DD Felicity for Christmas since she has Elizabeth already but when my MIL heard about the retirement she offered to buy it for her. We are going to the New York City AG store in a couple of weeks to get my DD her birthday doll so I may pick up a couple outfits and a brown haired Bitty Twin boy because she has been wanting one (she has blond boy and girl twins that she says are her and her brother Sam and now she wants a brown haired one to represent her other brother). I saw the Swinkies the other day at Target, they didn't have any of course but I saw the display, these my DD will not be getting although she has seen the commercials a million times and wants them. I can just see these things getting lost all over my house, lol. My DS15 has told us he'd like a guitar for Christmas which I am really excited about because he is really hard to shop for and usually just asks for video games and sports equipment. He is taking guitar for a music class next semester so he'd like to have one at home to practice with. Still at a loss for ideas for my DS8, when we were at Target the other day he just kept pointing out more cars and train stuff that we definately have plenty of.w

Thank you for the American Girl responses. All of my dds, even younger two, have really been talking about the american girls and not being too crazy about the bitty twins. I feel bad they wanted them last year when my dd11 got Julie, and I told them I think they should wait until next year. (Of course now that's this year and they still want them) I feel bad, soooo I think i'm going to get them all their dolls. DD11 wants Felicity, it does say this is the last Christmas to bring her home so i'm assuming she'll be around for my trip to the store in mid-november? Does that sound right? My dd9 wants Molly and my dd6 wants Rebecca. When I asked them which ones they wanted, they already knew, then I felt even worse, they've had these dolls picked out and have really been hoping for them. So I now have 3 dolls to buy :scared1:

I live about an hour from the store. I've never been up to the Natick mall and it looks pretty amazing. That's why my friends and I planned a trip up there. So i'm not going JUST for the American girl store, even though that's my main reason, my friends are going to do some christmas shopping too, then we'll all have lunch. I"m excited about that trip! Now I have some money to save up!:rotfl:

My daughter is 4.8 and she has three AG dolls. She is getting Felicity for Christmas too. This year she is doing a homeschool AG book club studying Felicity. Go for it!

Hi, Pam!! We miss you on your PTR!
I know you're worried about Sam and Lizzie being a little rough with the dolls, but I bet you can impress on them how important it is to keep them in good condition. You can even point out how Emily has kept hers in such good condition and how they're more fun when they still look pretty!
I've heard ebay and craft fairs are a great place to pick up AG clothes/accessories-- I guess the craft fair stuff isn't "real" AG, but unless Emily has her heart set on a specific set of AG pj's, that might be a cheaper route to go.

Target also sells the Our Generation line of dolls and clothes/accessories that are the same size as the AG stuff. We have a lot of the accessories and they work just fine for lot cheaper!!

Thanks, yeah, i'm definitely going to get them one. While we were looking online last night they were so excited. That is what they really want. And a AC book club. Oh my daughters would LOVE that.

Oh, i know, haven't been on my trip report. I'm all about christmas shopping right now:rotfl: We did talk about how these are not regular dolls and they need to be kept nice and cannot be thrown in the toy box....ever. They wouldn't care where the clothes came from. Even Emily is not set on having the specific items of each doll, thank god, i'd really go broke. There is actually a large flea market near us that sells them, and another little store that I know of. I'm definitely going to get them some outfits from there. I did see decent priced ones on amazon too.

Ya know, my friend just called me about an hour ago and told me about these dolls there at target. I've seen them before but forgot all about them. There clothes would be great for the american girl too. Thanks

I wouldn't assume that...if you really are sure you want to get Felicity for your daughter. Once an archival is announced, it's really anybody's guess as to when the dolls/clothes/etc will sell out. While Felicity may still very well be available in mid-November she may not, or you may be able to purchase her but she might be on a long backorder list until sometime in 2011 at that point. I think a lot of girls may have Felicity on their Christmas list since she's being archived. If I were you, I personally wouldn't take the chance. Mid November is a long time away and I would hate for your daughter to be disappointed if she sells out or goes on a long backorder. I would probably order or purchase sooner rather than later.

As soon as I found out about the archival I immediately bought the Felicity/Elizabeth Best Friends set because my daughter was upset she missed out on Kirsten and Samantha and I wasn't going to have that happen again. Good luck and I hope it all works out! :goodvibes
