Does anyone know which song I am referring to??

It's been on the radio here and they never seem to say who sings it.

It's about the little boy who has to buy Christmas shoes for his dying Mom on Christmas Eve.

The voice sounds like Lee Greenwood but I am not too good at distinguishing voices.

Hope someone can help.
Thanks!

Group is called NewSong; they have a whole bunch of CDs released, including a Christmas one with this on it. I bought the CD at Walmart. I think you might be able to get "Christmas Shoes" on iTunes (99 cents) too.

I can not listen to that song ever since my Mom passed away. I cry every time it comes on the radio. Funny thing is that my Grandson was talking about it yesterday. He is 8 and does not know how much it affects me. It is not a song I would expect him to listen to but he was telling me all about it.

I cannot listen to that song at all, or watch the movie. I watched the movie last year and bawled my eyes out. It has to be the saddest Christmas Movie I have ever seen!!

The song has been out for a number of years, I guess someone heard it and decided it would make a good movie. The group is Newsong, and it's definitely a staple on Christian radio for Christmas.

I have watched the movie for 2 or 3 years now and with that and the song I cry like a baby every time I hear the song or watch the movie.

Kenny Rogers sings a country version of The Christmas Shoes. We don't listen to that song. It is just too sad.

There is actually a book based on the song too. "The Christmas Shoes" by Donna VanLeire. You can find it at Barnes & Nobels.. I've seen it at Sam's Club too. She also has 2 more books in the series - "The Christmas Blessing" and "The Christmas Hope." All 3 are tear jerkers. ;)

Her first book was based off the song, and the movie on tv is based off of her book.

I have yet to be able to actually hear that whole song because I have always had to turn it off half way through. It is way tooo sad. I didnt even attempt to watch the movie on television. I figured that was just as bad or worse than the song and I knew I would end up bawling.

I love this song too! It is one of my favorite songs to sing at church during the Christmas season. Singing it didn't come easy though. It took me about 5 months just to be able to listen to it all the way through. It is difficult to sing but has such a great message.
