I am just trying to plan a trip in 2018 and we want our son to see everything all set up and decorated for christmas. Just wondering when disney starts to do the set up. We want and are going to try for G.F.V. 1 bedroom.

Christmas decorations will start going up about Nov 2 (depending on when the last Halloween party is). MK will be fully decked out within a couple of days after that. The other parks and the resorts will be in various stages of completion over the first couple of weeks of November with all decorations typically completed by the middle of November.

Once the last Halloween party is over on Oct 31 or Nov 1 (depending on what Disney schedules next year), the fall/Halloween decorations are removed and the Christmas decorations are put up in the MK. They will be complete by the first Christmas party which is generally a week after the last Halloween party. At the rest of the parks decorations will be installed gradually. Typically not much is done at Epcot until after the Food & Wine Festival ends and the Epcot holiday activities (Candlelight Processional, Holiday storytellers, IllumiNations holiday tag) will not begin until the day after Thanksgiving. At the resorts decorations and gingerbread displays will be installed gradually throughout November, but again, not all the resorts will be fully decorated until Thanksgiving.

If you want your son to see everything set up for Christmas you will need to wait until after Thanksgiving.

PERFECT thank you, I do want to have him see everything. my wife and I went at xmas in 2005 and sees r pics from that time with the trees in the resorts and xmas stuff up everywhere and he says one day maybe I can see that

One of my favorite memories happened during our November stay at Beach Club Villas. We were there the week between Veterans Day and Thanksgiving. When we arrived on Saturday, Beach Club showed no signs of being ready for Christmas. Some outdoor decorations like wreaths and lights showed up on Monday. When we walked through the lobby Wednesday morning, the entire lobby had been decorated. It had multiple trees, garlands, wreaths... you name it. It was amazing!

When we returned later that day, CMs were assembling a gingerbread carousel surrounded by character-themed mini gingerbread houses. Wow! By Friday, a small kiosk selling gingerbread treats showed up. I used all of our remaining snack credits to buy gingerbread Mickeys.

What PPs have said about the parks is spot-on. MK was fully decked out when we arrived. We even saw a rehearsal of the Christmas show on a non-party night, including the holiday fireworks. AK and HS had large trees set up at the entrances and many decorations in place. Epcot's large tree was installed a few nights before we departed.

The parks are certainly even more amazing when decked out in their holiday best.
