We are staying at the New York 30th November to 5 th December. I was already planning emailing the hotel a couple if weeks before we go to ensure we get a cot and bottle warmer in our room and at the same time was going to mention it is my 13th trip, me and my husbands 10th wedding anniversary and my 18month olds first trip in the hope of a little extra magic.
I'm thinking if I book the Christmas room there isn't really any magic they can give as the rooms are in a set part if the hotel (anyone know if they have a good view etc). You get a cuddly toy, decorations and chocolates as you have paid for them.
So is it worth all the extra money for a Christmas room or should I hope for a little extra magic and if I don't get any just buy my son a cuddly toy and bauble which will cost a lot less than the Christmas room.
Also on a different forum I've just seen you can upgrade at the New York to a VIP breakfast for €15 per person, anyone know what this involves?

I was thinking of booking one at HNY last year, but by the time I finally decided to go ahead and upgrade my booking all the Christmas Rooms had gone. So if you really want one, book it sooner rather than later.

I can't decide if it's worth the extra money given we hardly spend any time in our room. Are the rooms the nicest ones with best view etc?

We are there from 2nd until the 6th December, starting to get all excited, what are the christmad rooms please as I've booked and paid already but could maybe upgrade

they aren't rooms with views - they are a set number of standard rooms, decorated for xmas inside the rooms :).

As others have said it doesn't guarantee a special room with a view or anything, it's just a set number of rooms that are specifically decorated for christmas. You get a mini christmas tree and a few other decorations.

Someone on this forum did stay in a room like it last christmas I think, as I remember reading their trip report of it. They did however say it wasn't really worth the money and was a little bit shabby.

But as others have said I have heard they get snapped up quickly, so I'd advise you not to leave it too late if you do want one!

It depends how much you want a few other xmas touches in the room, as you said you won't be spending much time in the room, so you have to consider whether or not it's worth it. We always go around christmas, and personally I feel like the decorations and general christmassy atmosphere in the parks is more than enough, but then again we hardly spend any time in the hotel room, literally are just in there to sleep and wake up :rotfl:

If I were you I would just mention your situation as you've said and hope for a little bit of pixie dust :thumbsup2

Anyway hope you have a lovely time, even though it is a while off yet! Christmas is such a beautiful and magical time to go :goodvibes:cloud9:

Couple of piccies from our Xmas themed room at the HNY last year.

We also got christmas Mickey and Minnie stickers on the door and around the bathroom mirror

Although it was nice i personally didn't think it was worth the money and probably wouldnt do it again.

I've seen pop up Christmas trees - they package up really quite small and then concertina up. That could be an option - take your own decs (easy and quick to put up ones!) especially if you're driving....

I fully agree! I paid to have the Christmas room at the DLH last Christmas. It was £105 and I am sorry to say that I felt a bit shortchanged on it. The tree was very small (and wonky!). They hadn't turned on any of the lights before we entered the room (and it took us ages to work out how to switch them on!). No plush toy as promised - no bauble as promised. We got a garland across the window, some Christmassy bed runners, some baubles on the wall light fittings, a decal on the bathroom mirror and some on the outside of the door. We also got a small box of chocolates. I complained every day that we had not had our plush or bauble and eventually got a 2012 Minnie bauble (it had 20th anniversary on it!). We had also been told that the Christmas rooms were some of the better placed ones - we had an almost non existant view of some trees. It was awful! I believe it is about £126 this year, so if it were me I would not be spending that on top of a stay at HNY or DLH. I would save it for buying things in the shops or towards a special meal as the hotels and main park are so nicely decorated.

I don't know how to add photos on here, but I do have a couple if it helps.
