Christmas Question

Is there a Christmas party at DLR like there is at WDW? If so I want to try and make it a surprise for DH and DSS.

There is no Christmas party at DLR. All the decorations, the holiday fireworks, and the Christmas parade (if scheduled) are free to all guests with their admission. There is a Holiday Time tour that is lots of fun. Depending on your DS' age, he might like that.

There is a candlelight processional that might interest you! personally I have never been, but there is usually a celebrity guest...one year was Dick Van Dyke. So sad to miss that.

It looks like the OP will be visiting in November, so she will miss CP. CP usually takes place the first weekend in December, with 2 shows each on Sat. and Sun. evenings.

No worries guys! DH really wants to go for the decorations and to show DSS the other parts of Disney besides Star Wars haha! I just want to see HM with the NBC overlay. We'll catch the CP another time! Thank you so much!

And actually quick question about the tour. It says guest 16 and under must be accompanied by a paying adult. Does that mean they are free? DSS is going to be 7 and 3/4s when we go.

All tour guests must pay for their spot. Only guests under 3 are free. The rule means that guests under 16 cannot take the tour alone. The tour is a long one, since it includes the holiday parade. Some kids do well with the tour, getting into the holiday spirit and participating with the tour guide. Other kids, even teens, complain and whine the whole time about being bored. Do a search for descriptions of the tour, then you'll know if it will be a good fit for DSS.
