Hi, everyone! I am looking for a nice, alcoholic Christmas type punch to serve at a family Christmas party on Sunday. I'm looking for something festive looking, but not necessarily containing cranberry juice. Can anyone help?

TIA

Ann

This is what I'm serving - I normally HATE brown liquors - but the SoCo gets hidden and at the same time, does its job ;)

1 bottle (750-milliliter size) Southern Comfort
6 ounces lemon juice
1 can (6-ounce size) frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 can (6-ounce size) frozen orange juice concentrate
3 liters 50/50 or Squirt carbonated beverage
2 drops red food coloring/Grenadine
1 orange, sliced into rounds
1 lemon, sliced into rounds

In a large punch bowl, combine Southern Comfort, lemon juice, lemonade concentrate and orange juice concentrate. Stir in lemon-lime soda, and add a few drops of red food coloring. Float orange and lemon slices for garnish.

I had a wonderful brandy punch one year at an engagement / New Year's Eve party. I don't have the recipe, but let me tell you, it was a night to remember.

Let's just say I remember some of it. If was before DH and I were married. He was staying at my parents' house, on the bottom floor. I was on the top. He heard me puking all the way downstairs, and came up to see if I was o.k. I knew he was a keeper.

I've posted this before. It is unbelievably yummy. People always rave about it - even people who don't like tea or don't like Amaretto. You can't necessarily taste either in the finished punch.

The “Recipe”
Our Family Tradition

Ingredients:

4 teabags
7 cups water (divided)
1 large can frozen lemonade – thawed in refrigerator
1 large can frozen orange juice – thawed in refrigerator
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups Amaretto (use the cheap stuff for this)

Additional items:

Two-liter bottles of Sprite or 7-UP

Four 32-oz plastic cups (like the kind that extra-large drinks come in at fast food restaurants) or similar sized containers for freezing the mixture

Directions:

Begin by boiling 2 cups of the water and steeping the 4 teabags for 10 minutes. Remove teabags.

In a very large bowl, mix the hot tea with the thawed lemonade, orange juice, and sugar. Add the Amaretto and the remaining 5 cups of water. Mix thoroughly.

Divide this mixture by pouring equally into the four large cups. Cover the top of each cup with plastic wrap and then aluminum foil. Freeze the cups for at least 12 hours.

To serve:

By the glass:
Use an ice cream scoop to place one scoop of the frozen mixture into a large glass. Top with Sprite/7-UP and stir.

As punch:
Run warm water over the sides of one plastic cup to slightly thaw and loosen the frozen mixture enough that it will slip out into a large punch bowl. Mash or chop with a large spoon or whisk. Cover with a full 2-liter bottle of Sprite/7-UP and stir until dissolved.

This is my Christmas punch and its very simple.

Everyone will love it! It's this lovely golden color, very tasty, but "dangerous." It sneaks up on you because it tastes like "nothing," but the Amaretto can grab you if you get carried away.

Plan on making at least a second punch-bowl full. That always happens at our house.

Wow, this got buried pretty quickly! Any other punch recipes out there??? Anyone...anyone...

I make this but I use whisky instead of Amaretto and freeze it in a large bowl. We call it whisky slush. Add some marichino cherries before you freeze it. If you make it about a week before you need it the cherries get really good.

The punch I make isn't alcoholic but you could add vodka to it and it would be good.

1 can frozen lemonade
1 can frozen limeade
1 large can pineapple juice
1 bottle ginger ale
1 quart sherbet

Mix the above, serve. Again, adding vodka to this would be good. I use what ever sherbet, lime for Christmas, raspberry for 4th of July, etc.

I made some Hot Buttered Rum mix too. It isn't a punch though and you couldn't put it in a punch bowl but it is so yummy!

1 lb butter
1 lb brown sugar
1 lb powdered sugar
1 quart vanilla ice cream, softened

Melt the butter and sugars together over medium heat. Mix with ice cream and freeze.

To serve: one cup of hot water, 1-2 tablespoons of above mix, rum to your liking and sprinkle with nutmeg and/or cinnamon.

Hi Cindy's Mom, just wanted to let you know that I made your punch for our Christmas party today, and it was a big success!! It was delicious and very sneaky, you really can't taste the SoCo at all!
