Why are we doing a christmas present exchange in October? Shouldn't this be done in December, or at least late november??

Many DISers will be on vacation in December and busy getting presents together for their other family and friends. So, this will be a chance for DISers to exchange Christmas gifts with others.
We had even done a Christmas in July present exchange, and that was alot of fun with a great turn out.
