I was considering Christmas Party tickets for our (myself and my DH) short trip, unfortunately I didn’t know that it’s only certain days of the week and had been thinking of having that be what we did on our arrival day but there isn’t a party that day. We are arriving on a Wednesday (haven’t booked flights yet but I’m hoping for early) and will be leaving for a cruise on Saturday. We were planning to go to AK and Epcot, maybe get park hoppers but if we don’t do a party I think we’ll forget that idea since MK would have shorter hours both days and you couldn’t pay me to go near HS.

Would trying to fit in a party be too much? I don’t see us as being “commando” type people so while I want to do it I’m unsure. Has anyone done a similar trip? What is there really for two adults at the party?

For 2 adults - rides are always there. Christmas parade, shows if you like them. We met the 7 dwarfs and got photos (a rare meet & photo op). The atmosphere is fun. Epcot World Showcase has Christmas storytellers or special entertainment at each country. If you do the party you can enter at 4. You could go to AK and Epcot the other days, relax the morning of your party, have a nice meal as a late lunch or visit some resorts to see their holiday decor.

I did the Christmas party as one adult and thought it was great. I met jack and sally watched the stage show and parade and did a couple rides. However, with such a short trip unless you like touring commando I probably wouldn’t do it. My trip was longer and I spent most days going morning till night.

If you’re still planning on doing MK keep in mind non party days will be very crowded so personally I’d rather get park hoppers and go in the morning/afternoon of a party day. Or just skip MK and enjoy AK and Epcot. There’s plenty of Xmas stuff at Epcot to keep you busy.

We are doing the party but we'll be there for 6 full days. We are doing the party on a non-park day so we can sleep in and relax in the resort then hit the party in the evening. I think if you only had a few days I wouldn't do it.

We have attended MVMCP many times as adults without children. It is a great experience and we have been so lucky to live long enough to bring along my mother (89 at that time!) as well as introduce our 3 grandchildren to the party. Our favourite travel time is Nov, so we usually hit the party season. On shorter trips, MVMCP is often our MK day.

My DD and I went just a few years ago, on a Mother and Daughter trip to celebrate her 40th birthday! We love the decorations and atmosphere, fireworks, parade, the whole nine yards.

My and I are only as adults (by choice) and totally love the Christmas Party. There is plenty to do and see even without kids. There are the ride (still) and a chance to meet the 7 Dwarfs. My wife loved the hot cocoa and cookies. So, for two adult doing the Christmas Party, I would say go for it.

For the second part, is it too much? That is a personal choice. This past October we spent all day at AK (a first for us as it has always been a morning half-day park prior) and we had a great seeing the park come alive at night. For Epcot is always a must do for us and will spend all day there (even two days if can). Also, when we go parties whether the MNSSHP or the MVMCP we always try to do it on arrival day. We end up getting in very early afternoon and instead of wasting a ticket on a partial day at the park, we would rather go to the party and still enjoy the rides and sights and sound of MK. So, again since you are looking for something to do on arrival day, I would say go for it. Also, you can get into the parties at 4:30 p.m. instead of only after 7:00 p.m.
