Christmas Parade

How do I find out when they are taping...
the parade that is broadcast on Christmas Day? I am hoping that these boards are correct in that it is generally taped the first weekend of December (as that is when we are there)...but where is the best place to get the info regarding the timing of the parade. I also understand (correct me if I'm wrong) that the parade is the same on the evenings of MVMCP. We want to be sure to get a seat somewhere along the parade route for the daytime taping...can anyone help? Need to know soon so we can set the rest of our itinerary....

It is not exactly the same as the parade shown at MVMCP. The parade at MVMCP runs smoothly and can be seen in 20 minutes. The parade taping for TV takes all day while they run the floats for different shots. They also add marching bands and celebrity spots. It usually starts in the morning and runs well into the afternoon.

Just wanted to add that you probably DON'T want to be there for the taping it is a long drawn out process that children will not sit still for, it is boring and not very glamours. What they do is escort "A" float from Frontierland to Main Street, they will start filming (just on Main Street) and they will back the float up and do it again and again until they get the shot they want, then they will escort the float out by City Hall and bring in the next one. Like I said it is long and drawn out. It is not the parade in full and does not start and end... it is one float at a time in the course of about 8-10 hours and 2-3 days. I would say if you want to see some of it plan for sometime just to see what they are doing, but don't work your whole schedule around the taping.
