Christmas Parade

DD has been asking to go to MK on Christmas day, this year, ever since we watched the parade on TV on this Christmas. So my question is: Is the parade really televised live on Christmas day, or is it taped in advance? Can anyone with MK admision be there, or is it during a time of some special admission? Any advise would be appreciated.

Somebody could correct me but I heard it is filmed the first satuday in December. I think anyone can go but it takes a long time to tape because of all the stopping and filming.

It was actually taped over a period of 3 days due to weather delays for Regis and Kelly. It was taped in parts on the 5th, 6th, and 7th of December. The parade as you see it on TV is a trumped up version of the actual parade that you can see daily during the holiday season at the park.

Regular park admission allows you to sit and watch the filming of the parade, although you will see the same thing over and over again until they get all the perfect camera angles and performances. MK is quite busy on the day of taping with the people who want to be shown on TV in the parade

I think your DD would enjoy the regular Christmas parade rather than trying to see the taping which is long, sometimes boring and spread out through a few days, taping the famous people who sing etc... at different times/places. It's nothing like what you see on Christmas day.

You can catch the regular parade at the "Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party" event held on Sun, Tues, Thurs and Fri evenings from 7pm to Midnight throughout December. It's a hard ticket event so it will cost extra. It goes on after MK closes.

Or you can go to WDW Christmas Week and catch it during the day as it will replace the Share a Dream Come True parade.

Typically barring the weather related problems this year a majority of it is taped solely on the First Saturday in December..
