Christmas Parade

wE PLAN ON SPENDING THE DAY AT THE MAGIC KINGDOM ON DEC 7 AND GOING TO THE MVMCP THAT NIGHT. I SEE THEY ARE GOING TO BE FILMING THE PARADE THAT DAY. dOES IT TEND TO GET OVER CROWDED AT THE PARK THOSE DAYS AND SHOULD I REARRANGE MY SCHEDULE.

Are you sure they are filming on the 7th. I just received a phone call from a very nice CM applogizing for canceling our PS for the Magic Behind the Steam Train tour for Dec 6th due to the filming of the parade. He said they would be filming all day and that the camras will be set up on the platform therefor the train won't be running

I also heard they were filming on Saturday 12/6/03. We will be there that day. We are going the deal with the crowds to try to be part of the parade.

WALT DISNEY WORLD CHRISTMAS PARADE

We are looking for some volunteer extras to be part of the Walt Disney World Christmas Parade hosted by Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa. The 2 segments will air on ABC as part of the Walt Disney Christmas Parade Christmas morning.

WOW, I work on the train and this is the first I have heard of that. I knew they were filming that day (and to answer the original question...Main Street tends to be very busy that day, but should be a regular saturday in the park otherwise). I don't doubt it, they would not cancel the tour otherwise, but... when they says these boards are helpful, they weren't kidding...

By the way were you able to reschedule your train tour? I hope that you are not missing out on it because of the filming...

They usually do the separate celebrity spots at different times & dates.

I'm kind of bummed, admittedly, that the parks will be so jammed our first day there (ever!) We *do* have it scheduled to go back on Monday (to MK) but - <sigh> I'm a little concerned about the crowd levels on Sunday (DD's birthday)

We are spending that weekend at WDW...12/6 is our wedding anniversary. Now my crazy hubby wants to try and get on TV during the parade instead of walking hand in hand through the parks, enjoying ourselves. My first thought on hearing about this parade was "Let's try to avoid THAT!"

We're going on 12/7 too and have heard conflicting reports regarding the taping of the parade. Does this change the direction of the parade? Does it no longer start at Main street?

They film it coming down Main Street from the castle to Town Square. It's an all day thing, the parade does not just come by like normal and that's it. They start and stop, refilm things, send one float at a time down the street.

When we saw it taped in 2001, it was on a Thursday and the park was not crowded. There was little advance notice that time, so alot of people probably did not know about it.
