i just need this info real quick and the search engine is not working (it never does for me).

when will the christmas parade be taped at the magic kingdom this december? i know it is usually the first weekend, but i remember reading somewhere this year would be different. :confused3

i may be taking a quick unexpected trip and i am woefully unprepared!!!

please help!!!

What is the website you go to, to enter to be a participant in the audience?

So potentially, we could be there when they tape the parade next year. That's pretty cool!!

Yes. However, you have to register for it with some entertainment company. Also, just be warned ahead of time, I did it last year and it wasn't what you think it is going to be. The ONLY reason I am considering it this year is because I am taking someone who's NEVER been to WDW and this may be fun for them.

Regis and Kelly are there to work, and interact VERY little with the crowd. It's a long process of MOSTLY standing around, and quite boring.

I think if you've never done it, you wont hurt anything by trying it, but I'm just saying, dont get your expectations high.

Last year I signed up via the AP site. Evidently they are also doing it through the DVC site also this year. Glad I won't be there at that time though. It was tough on my knees and back last year. A ton of standing, which I normally don't mind, but all that shoving, and pushing your kid further to the front....well, it got tiring after awhile. There was one guy right in front of me, who continually put his arm up, in front of my face, holding a teddybear with a Mickey outfit on. Just missed my nose on several occasions. And then there were the moms with the little girls with the tiara's on...seems they won some kind of beauty contest. The moms didn't seem to feel the need to be in the third row back from the front....just kept pushing those kids up to the front row, until they made it. You should have heard the people in back of me....kept saying that evidently their kids weren't cute enough to be up front. Nope, not so unhappy I'll be missing it this year!!! Way too stressful for me.

Just watching it on t.v., you'd think it was just like any other Disney parade. Everyone looks so happy.......Who would have ever known?

But...I'd still get to say "I was at WDW when they filmed the parade."

How does the filming of the parade effect the crowd level in the park that day? We were thinking of being in Magic Kingdom on Dec. 2, but if it will be chaos that day we may need to rethink that idea.

Thanks, :)

We were there that weekend in 2004 and will be there again this year. We are avoiding MK like the plague on the weekend. It cuts into our MK time, but it's worth it to stay away. My DD's birthday is Dec. 1st and she really wanted to go to MK, but NO WAY!! She picked AK instead, and Sat. is Epcot. We may hit MK Sun., because the parade is usually done by then unless they need to film something else. Sunday is evening EMH at MK though, so we may avoid it then also. :confused3 I'm so confused on this trip, I just can't decide what park to do on what days. Oh well, I still have 2 months to figure it out. :thumbsup2

If there is chaos on main street for filming of the parade, how is the rest of the park that day?

I know what you mean abot being confused :confused3 . We usually travel in Sept and really don't need to plan our days quite so strictly. The parade taping cuts into my original plans, so I'm still working on it. This trip we are traveling with my MIL/FIL and they want to do 2 days at Universal (DH, DD and Self not doing Universal), so I need to take that into consideration.

Hopefully I'll have an idea in 2 months when we are there. Have a fantasmic trip!
