We had our vouchers for 11:30am, but I decided to go earlier, so we got there around 10:30am and we showed our vouchers, they gave us wristband but told us not to put them on
and they let us in without scanning our passes (we have AP) they told us just to fill in any empty areas. There was no real control over who had vouchers and who didn't. We arrived as they were filming the Lion King Floats, we found plenty of space right in the middle of mains street. The camera people were there filming al the kids and some families. Then the float with villains and the the new Menudo came and filmed. We stayed for about 2 1/2 hours and started headding toward the castle, all of the opening floats were there, stopped waiting for their turn, we got some pics with chip and dale, Mary Poppins, Belle, Giselle, Jack SParrow.
In short I was expecting the Main Street area to be packed and it wasn't, there were alot of empty spots, as soon as we got over to Fantasyland in route to Columbia Harbor House, it hit us, PACKED. I guess nobody is really interested in the taping anymore.
The kids liked the experience, we saw the "director" he came out and walked up and down main street during retakes, and we were surprised it was the same guy that sang at Tarzan Rocks. We even metioned this to him and he aknowledged that he did, in fact, sing there. (I miss Tarzan Rocks).
During the rest of the day, it was still pretty packed, we did get to see the new christmas parade ( didn't like the new music) and Cindy's castle lighting.
I would do it again, only I would get there earlier and try and get spots closer to the confecctionery.
