I was just wondering if you have to have a special ticket or pass to be at the MK in a viewing area for the filming of the Christmas Parade. My family and I will be there when they are filming it this year, and I thought it would be neat to watch it while it was being filmed. I'm not looking to find a way to be on tv. I just think it would be a neat memory. If anyone has any info please let me know. TY! :thumbsup2

HI! Well...we were at the Taping of the Xmas parade this past year. And if you want to be called upon as an Extra for the Taping, you submit your name to Disney (somehow..sorry don't know much on this..you will have to ask around on the boards.) But you submit your name, Disney will email you back if you get accepted and you are in a slot to stand there for 4 hours while they tape sections of the parade. However...we did not do this. We walked into the park like normal that day and watched a bit from the sidelines as passersby..we saw Regis and Kelly, right when we walked in..and we saw the floats going down Main street and an annoucer on the loud speaker saying.."okay, everyone remember its Christmas Morning..." lol
It was cute, but I don't think the crowds that weekend were worth the muss and fuss of it all. IT WAS PACKED! The WHOLE PARK. Not just main street. So if you are going that week anyway and you want to stop by for a few hours to see what you can of the parade being taped, I would reccomend, otherwise, I would STEER Clear that weekend!
Good Luck and have a Magical Time.

From what I've read, it is filmed the first Saturday in December which would be December 2nd this year. Looks like you'll just miss it...lol

When are they doing this? We are going 12/3 - 12/8 & I want to avoid MK the day they film...

They usually do taping the first weekend in December..Friday, Saturday and Sunday if needed.

Everyone told me last year that it wasn't worth it. I was determined that it would be fun. I should have listened to them. It was BORING. I was SO psyched and everyone else was right.

That being said, I am still glad I did it. The anticipation and planning were more fun than acutally doing it, but I can still say "I did it once". We were getting a cinnamon roll from Main St. Bakery by 10:00 am. After 2 hours of standing there for the stage shows and seeing NOTHING but a bunch of suits walking around and having us pretend to cheer for nothing 20 times, I was done.
