Has anyone had any success or problems booking for Christmas week this year? I am interested in getting BWV standard view for the end of the week.

You never know until you call. Chances are that you may not get what you want when you first call but if you get on the wait list things may come through. Many people plan on going to WDW every Christmas/NYE and book at the 11 month mark. But, plans change and things may open up as we get closer to December.

EDIT -- I think I was taking a little nap when I wrote the info above. Of course, everyone is on equal footing right now for booking home resorts. If you call day-by-day you'll probably get what you want. If not, the same "get on the wait list" idea applies. The most difficult day will probably be 12/31.

Today I booked my final 3 nights, doing the day by day booking for 12/22 - 12/28. I was worried Monday am since I got a busy signal when I called even before 9 am. But it's done. I would definitely recommend calling at 9, day by day for reservations you want. I was booking a 2 bedroom, standard view, for the Boardwalk.

Wasn't that the wildest thing getting the busy signal before 9:00am this morning? I was just getting the number set to redial at 9:00, and I couldn't believe that it was busy, and busy, and busy........:( :(

I still have a few more days to book. I can't wait for this to be over and done with.

I have been booking a day by day reservation for December 21, 2002 to January 3, 2003 every morning for a 2 bedroom at VWL, and I manage to never get a busy signal and have only been placed on hold once. The other times, I get right through to MS. I haven't had any problems booking any of the nights (even today *A MONDAY*, I got right through with no busy signal and no holding).

So, if you are booking at the 11 mo. window you should stand a pretty good chance, although the standard view BWV rooms usually book pretty early.

I just completed booking our trip for Christmas yesterday. We reserved a 1bdr at VWL from 12/15 - 12/27. I wanted to stay until the 29th, but at 75 points per night for that weekend, I couldn't. Trying to talk dh into a cash ressie at the end or a stop at HH on the way home.

Anyway, I called day by day and was on hold and dealt with busy signals every day, but it wasn't that bad. I am glad it is over though. I was panicked that I would forget to call and they would be sold out.

Me Too!!!!!! I am still in the panic mode....I booked a 2 bedroom standard bwv view for 12/22-27. I still have to book 12/29-1/3! As I write this my stomach is in all knots and I will be glad when the booking is all over!!! It's our first family trip to Disney during the Christmas Season. Wish me luck!

Yesterday finished booking a 5 night stay Dec. 21 - 26. Three nights at OKW, 2 BR (to rest up after the Magic) and 2 nights at BWV, 2 BR standard view (for the excitement of Christmas decorations and the Boardwalk on Christmas eve and Christmas day).

I did day by day, was on hold only once. Called about a minute or two before 9, listened to the messages until it turned 9 and punched 3 twice.

Was able to do 2 different resorts because DB and DSIL let me use their points for OKW and I have BWV.

I am glad they no longer have the preference list at holidays - I always missed the timing for that, but have the 11 month window procedure down pat.
