Christmas Magic: DH Finally Gets It!! Update: pg9 Last Day, Wrap up!

YAY! What a fun adults only trip! Where are you staying?

We are going in December 2010. We are thinking 12-17th. I just got a 30% off code for Deluxe in my email a few days ago for volunteering with Give A Day. I hear that there are 40% offs going around (which is what I got last time) so I am kind of bummed. Hoping for free dining or a public 40% code!!

It happens to me all the time when your in the middle of a post
and the pc shuts down.. how frustrating.

I soo badly want a December PIN code. My family wants to go earlier (like Sept) but I just fell in LOVE with Decemeber at the World!
In May we are staying at SSR. I rented DVC points and it's going to be GREAT!
Almost let the cat out of the bag last night but I think I'll wait at least 2 more weeks.

If you don't mind other people looking at your pics (and having access to them) you can still find photopass shares on Facebook. I know they have been banned on the DIS but a lot of Dissers now meet up on FB for them. That's what I've always done. Just can't fathum spending $125 on a few pictures when I have a perfectly decent camera to do the same thing.

After Grammy and I got back from the 'concert' the boys were done playing video games for the day (well DH was anyway!) and we hoped on a Bus headed for DTD. It was STILL POURING outside and we thought for awhile about taking the bus or driving. We also talked about stroller or no stroller. Well, Bus and no stroller won but guess who decided he wanted to sleep through lunch??
By the time we got to DTD and into Earl of Sandwich poor DS was snoozing away! It was sooo crowded in there too! DH tried to scope out a seat while I waited in line. He was also carrying a heavy, sleeping boy! He finally found a spot and luckily it was a booth so we were able to lay DS out and let me continue napping.
Lunch was great and I was in need for some CHOCOLATE after that early morning start to my day! I hopped over to Goofys and got some pre-made pretzel sticks. I was kind-of bummed that I couldn't get the make-you-own for a snack credit any longer. Let me rephrase that, I was bummed that I could only get ONE pretzel as a make-your-own snack credit, but I could get 3 ready made ones. Anyway, they still tasted great!


We never did make it to a park this day. After lunch we went back to the room and watched tv. Mom and I napped and I'm not sure what Ds and DH did!

I know we eventually got hungry and decided to eat off property. DH wanted a steak-house but the girls overruled and we ended up at Macoroni Grill. It was delish! Can you believe it was still raining?? We got back to the room and finished packing up. It was our last night and as DS drifted off to sleep I taped the Electric Water Parade (yes! even in the rain!) and the fireworks from MVMCP that we could see from our balcony! Man, I would miss this room!



We had big plans for the next morning! We were off to breakfast at Fort Wilderness. Now, this is the one breakfast DH had been looking forward to for 2 years! He really liked it when we went in 2007.
We packed the luggage in the car and took a boat over to FW. It was STILL raining! But we managed!






I was begining to feel like those ducks!




THere wasn't a wait for breakfast and soon we were eating! Sooo good! I had a little of everything and even tried the sausage gravy and biscuits! Brady enjoyed the fruit and of course the Mickey waffles!

Do you need ADR's for that place at FW? I always hear it is really good and reasonable

Sounds like fun...isn't that just how it works that Brady slept through your meal?

I think I'm going to need to try these pretzals everyone talks about so much! I didn't know you can still get 3 if you get the pre-made ones!

Fort wilderness always looks so beautiful. Brady looks so tiny in that rocking chair, cute! And you made me hungry for their food!

I know I'm SUPER late to the party, but better late than never! I just read your whole TR!!! What a great vacation! I really want to go to WDW around Christmastime. It's so pretty. Your photopass pics are just precious and the pic of your DM with Brady on Dumbo is my fav!!!!

That's so cool that you got to experience part of the parade taping! I don't know that I would have been willing to get up that early on vacation, though!

So sad your trip is ending. Are you going to do a report for your couples trip?

I've always made ADRs (we've gone 3x) but I don't believe you really need them. It is very small in there though and quite the hike to get there if you're relying on WDW trans. So if you went all the way there and had to wait a long time it'd be not worth it.

We love the food there. DH likes the atmosphere. It's too wildernessy for me! Man was it raining though. It just wouldn't quit that morning!

Thanks for reading! I know I keep repeating myself but I really fell in love with that time of year. DH did too, he hates the heat and humidity!

It wasn't that hard to wake up. I'm glad we didn't bring DH and DS. They would've been miserable. My momma and I seem to do lots of these odd things together! It's fun!
I probably won't do a TR, maybe just a quick recap/review. We're staying at SSR for the first time!

I don't know when we'll go back as a family. We enticed DS with going to see Mickey to get him potty-trained. So we will follow-through but I'm not sure when. We'll see if/when good deals come out!

Thanks to any readers who still might be out there! I'll just post a short wrap-up. I've been meaning to do this for awhile now.

On our last day we wandered around a very rainy, very muddy Ft Wilderness resort. We hopped a boat to MK to enjoy our last few hours in our favorite spot. They were taping the Christmas parade that day so when we got in we took the railroad back to ride Splash Mt. Hey, we figured we were already wet! Dh and I rode this as a walk-on. DM and I rode afterwards and it was still a walk-on! We tried to go see if DS was tall enough to ride BTMR but it was broken. Oh well, I have a feeling he would've been too short so it's something we'll do next time!

We went on a few more rides, Pirates and HM. We all decided to ride the Hall of Presidents and ran into this guy in the waiting area.

We then decided it was time to go. The rain had let up a bit but it was still sprinkling, and COLD!
We made our way back to Main St. I stopped and got my last snack...

It was soooo good! I don't think I even shared!


Overall we had an excellent trip. The Wilderness Lodge was Top Notch! We all loved it! DS found countless hidden Mickeys all over that place over the week. He would find some and start saying "Mickey" and I wouldn't even see them! He's good!

We'll definitly be back again, and with Grandma Linda. She's already said she wants to go back. Right now we are looking at Oct/Nov or Dec.
DH and I are going for his birthday in just 3 short weeks! I can't wait for a relaxing adult trip! We are staying at SSR for the first time and having a spa day!

It was such a nice feeling to wake up and think in 3 weeks I'll be getting ready to go to the MK!! Makes getting up easier sometimes!
