Me again - sorry for all the questions

Any ideas for Christmas Day Lunch.

Last year we did the Tinkerbell show at TNBay as we stayed there. This year we have opted for THInn who dont yet know what they are doing (if anything) special for Christmas Day Lunch.

Any other ideas/experiences for a special lunch/activity.

Thanks in advance, :wave2:

Sarah

Sarah, we went to the Lucky Nugget last year. We chose that because we wanted to eat with characters without paying silly prices and we had a fabulous time. It was only their usual buffet at the usual price but they really did make an effort to make it special :goodvibes

See my trip report of it here.

There plenty off possibilities but remember the lunches in the hotels are only for the guests of the hotels. Just to avoid a disappointment.
I think in the park self you can book freely.

We understood that to be the case last year, but were sat on the same table as a couple from DLHotel. I wondered if any of the other DLP hotels has a show come traditional Christmas Lunch event and how people rated it.

What lunch was that?
We were seated with people from England on the Tinker Bell show and we stayed in the DL hotel.

It was the Christmas Day lunchtime show. About 1 o'clock I think. we are from Wales with obvious welsh accents :)

Do you remember the smoke then ? Did you get the free toy upon entry ?

Sorry we took the evening show.

Did you also get that green stuff that was called cheese but looked like Pugh? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
It supposed to be an English kind of cheese but our English neighbours told us it was probably coming from Mars.
We had a great time with that family.
:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

LOL - No cheese Im glad to say.

I thought the whole event was very well organised for the number of people attending. the food was lovely (hot and well prepared) considering it was mass produced.

Would like to do something similar this year but dont want to see the same show again.

The people you meet make these events though and we were lucky enough to sit with a great couple too.

Would recommend it to anyone.

We did the Tinker Bell show last year too, on the 23rd, and really enjoyed it. :tink:

We did look into booking the Christmas Character Buffet for Christmas Day (Hotel New York) but then found out it was going to cost us nearly £300 and then when I tried to book I was told it was for package customers first and only left over places would be sold to independent travellers.

So we went to the Lucky Nugget, no Father Christmas but loads of great characters.

Do you have to book for the LN before arrival or can it be done on arrival at the hotel.

What sort of cost would this be for Christmas Lunchtime

That’s just what I mend .All the diners are booked by the hotel guests. I saw it happen now for three times.
Those guests who did not make a pre booking surely go for the last places as soon as they arrive in the hotels.
There’s always a run for the last places.
That’s why I made all my dinner reservations when we booked the hotel.

And your so right its very very expensive.

We booked it before we went. You can book up to 60 days in advance on 00 33 1 60 30 40 50. I would book it before you go if it's really important to have a table meal at lunchtime. It was packed out and they were turning people without reservations away.

The price was 30 euros adults and 15 euros children, it wasn't any dearer than usual. :) I'm sure Cafe Mickey and Walts were normal prices on Christmas Day too. Also Plaza Gardens although I don't think that opened until late afternoon/evening.

We booked last week fot the bleu lagoon on the 23 december.
Its more than 60 days but is was no problem the lady told us.
Take Ware Bears warning by the hart. One time we did not book a dinner in advance and we stood more that 2 hours outside the restaurant before we could ask if there maybe was a table available.
Just give it a try with one phone call you know.

I have just telephoned the HI and spoke with a lovely french lady who spoke very good english.

We are now booked into their Christmas Buffet (all you can eat) on Christmas Day at 7pm. No show or characters which refelects in the price of £22 per adult and £9 a child.

We intend booking for Lunchtime so which is the best option for an 8 year old and a hungry father - LOL. Walts, LN or Cafe Mickey?
