Don't hate me for starting a Christmas thread!:rotfl2:

I was taking down my halloween lights today which got me thinking about Christmas lights. I always do my Christmas lights and I add more lights to my display each year. In the past, I've used C9 bulbs on the rooflines, but this year I'm considering using miniatures instead - maybe I'll even upgrade to LEDs for rooflines this year...

So for those of you who do Christmas lights, what kind of lights do you use on your rooflines. Pictures too if you can!;)

Oh my how lovely!!!!!!! :goodvibes

This year, we won't be decorating. WDW will be taking care of that for us!

We use the minis, but I really like the C9s on the roof.:thumbsup2

We use the minis, but have been looking at the LEDs, and they have a C6 or C7 size that is sort of between the C9 and the mini that looks interesting.

Thank you!
We had our trip scheduled for the week before Christmas but that's our town's light-up judging - I can't miss that! We rescheduled our trip to November.:rotfl:

Not sure if we get to or not this year. We are adding on to the house :dance3: so DH is pretty swamped for a while.

I am converting the last of my lights to LED's this year. (started last year)

THey make all sizes in LED's now. The beauty is that the LED's are much more clear and crisp in color, and the power draw is usually about 1/5 or less than a same sized string of regular bulbs!

I found this site:

www.christmaslights.com

that sell's C9 sized LED sets (as well as regular)

GO for it!!!

I use all minis but the c9s make me feel nostalgic and I like that too :santa: . I do not like the LEDs at all. Their brightness kind of hurts my eyes and I just don't find them to be as pretty.

We use the same lights you do. I think your house looks beautiful the way you have it lighted and I wouldn't change a thing! :santa:

My neighborhood has become a mass of mini white lights and I love it when I see color and larger bulbs!

I like the C9 for the roof line. We had used swag lights in the past. I think that is the name. But what a pain. Now we use C9 for the house and garage. Smaller lights for the trees. Nice picture.......

I like my orange icicle lights for halloween (I should see if I can dig up a halloween light photo...) because I like the chaotic, spooky look for them. Beyond that though, I think they're a pain to store and a pain to get untangled, despite having stored them so they wouldn't get tangled, and a pain to get them spaced somewhat evenly when hanging them. I agree - they're a pain!:rotfl: They look nice, but totally not my idea of fun to deal with.

Mini's all around for us. Never have liked the big ones on houses or trees. I am considering larger sizes for LEDs, but only if I go with one of the fancy pre-programmed light show/color changing bulb sets. :)

I do luv me some Christmas lights.

I have no idea what we will use!! This is our first Christmas in our house and I am so excited about decorating!! I just hope DH's broken shoulder heals quickly so he can do it soon!

C9's all the way. Those icicle lights finally got thrown out...they were a pain in the rear and with the wind they were always flipping over the top of the gutter. We like the white on the roof and then use color on the trees/bushes.

This picture is not all that great, but I actually took it last night after we finished putting up our lights!! It was a gorgeous day and we decided just to get it done.

You can't see the front porch so I took a picture of that too. Fall stuff still up with the Christmas lights...that never happens at my house. And yes, we'll wait until the end of Nov to turn the lights on although it will kill my DH.

We use all the above. My husband really gets into the decorating. It does look nice though.

They are both lovley! We had greenery swags w/ reg. white lights in them last yr. Will be the same this yr I am sure.

Zuzugal. Wher in St Louis are you? I used to live out there and was wondering what area that is.
