We are planning our first trip to WDW during the holiday season(first week of December). :teeth: :teeth: :teeth:

We are trying to decide what kind of plan to follow to see the resorts and their decorations? What route suggestions do you have and what's the best way to get there? (We will not have a car.) How much time do we allow? Can we do some of it during the day or do we need to do most of it at night to fully appreciate the lights? Any suggestions would be most appreciated!

you are wanting to visit all the resorts? this will take some planning! i would suggest picking a few and just visit those. grand floridan and wilderness lodge are fabulous. we have visited beach/yacht club and those too are very nice. i don't think it really matters as to when you visit--day or night. the best way to get to a resort is to take that bus from one of the parks or downtown disney. the time you are going is great! don't forget about the candlelight processional at epcot and mickey's very merry christmas party at MK. the christmas party will require a special ticket. they are on sale now. http://wdwig.com/holiday.htm have a look at this site; it will be helpful. this year the osborne lights will not be at mgm., but will return next year.:(

We certainly won't do them all, but we have a day that we are not going to the parks...so how much can we do in one day and one evening?

Would like to know about the "must sees". Thanks!

So much depends on the size and age of the members of your party, not to mention where you're staying and how you'll be getting around. However, I'll suggest the "dumbo or die" (hats off to The Unofficial Guide) version: start your resort hop day with an early character breakfast at GF's 1900 Park Fare. Continue with a visit(s) to the other monorail resorts. If you end at Poly walk to TTC, if you end at CR walk to MK. From either of these locations board a bus for BW. Once there you may begin at BWI and gradually work your way around to catch as many of the resorts as you wish...BC/YC, Swan/Dolphin. You can grab a late lunch at one of the many restaurants in this area. Depending on what time MGM is open until, the way I suggest moving on from here is boat ride to MGM where you can grab a bus to WL. I have yet to experience it firsthand, but all I have heard it that the lodge is breathtaking during the holidays! If you only did "snacks" at BW area have dinner at either Artist Point (fancier) or Whispering Canyon (casual). This plan leaves out AKL, as far as the deluxes, so I would try to do a dinner there on another night, so as to not miss it. OR you could do AKL last on your hopping day and save WL for a speacial visit for dinner. You are SO smart to set aside a day. The resorts are unbelieveable during Dec.

I'll be hot on your heels. We are going the second week of Dec. this year.

hhhmmmm.......you could probably see those on the monorail plus WL in the morning. and then onto YC/BC/Boardwalk. maybe have lunch here at beaches and cream. afterwards, the moderates. this should be easy as POFQ is closed. the ones at riverside(dixie landings) are nice. i have never seen the ones at caribbean beach, but have been told by those staying there they are caribbean in design. allstars resorts are nice, but i would not rush to see them if you do not have time. one neat thing at OKW is a lot of the balconies have lights strung on them by the guests. now the transporation will be a challenge. from the resorts you will need to" hub out" from either a park or downtown disney. have a great time:p

More information...We are a family of 5...kids ages 15, 12, 8. We are staying at YC...hopefully.

I knew I could count on all of you for your ideas...keep 'em comin'!!!! :sunny:
