Christmas is over...now we can fully look forward to WDW

Don't get me wrong I love Christmas. But for me there is a little relief that it's over now, and I can just focus on how excited I am for Disney!! DH and I are leaving January 19 with the whole fam (Mom, Dad, Sis, Bro in law, and Nephew). Who's with me?? Anyone else, glad to get through the holidays to fully emerse themselves in all Disney, all the time?? I CANNOT wait!

We'll be leaving for Disney on Jan. 8th and all I can think about is sitting in the

Count me in! We arrive January 10th (FOURTEEN DAYS!!!!!) for a week at the Boardwalk and now that Christmas is over I can (more) completely obsess.

I have been thankful for Christmas (which we are still having at our house - kids were with other parents for Christmas - us and neighbors - so today is Christmas) to keep my mind off of how close our trip is. I get so excited I can hardly wait. Just 27 days now

Yep, count me in. Yesterday was stressful with a few family members that never cease to amaze me with what they do and say to my poor husband (abusive). Most of the family is great, but a few I can't wait to not have to be around again unless absolutely necessary.

I told my husband, you made it through another holiday - now we can look forward to our Disney trip coming up in a few weeks and no major holiday get togethers again until next Thanksgiving. And if we're smart, we'll schedule a Disney vacation during those next year to leave the state.

You are so right. We arrive January 21st and my son who couldn't come home for Christmas is meeting us there so it will be wonderful. Plus it will be my granddaughter's first time to Disney. No holiday let down for us.

We just called today and added on an additional night for our July trip!!! Now we have 9 nights booked at Jambo House!!! All that thinking of WDW over the holiday forced us to do it!

I'm normally so let down after the holidays. This year is a totally different feeling... and I love it. So glad to know I'm not the only one! I think I may have found my favorite time of year (and we haven't even gone yet!)

I love Christmas, but our school has been going through Middle States Accreditation and I was chair of the steering committee. Finally got through the team visitation at the end of November, and had my entire family for Thanksgiving dinner the next week. Did all my Christmas prep after that and had DH's family over for our annual Christmas Eve Bash, about 60 people, and had two feet of snow 3 days before. DH-61, DS-21, DD's boyfriend-20 spent 20 something hours digging out our 100 foot driveway so all the old folks wouldn't kill themselves getting to the house. We live in farm country and they didn't even think about plowing our road until the 23rd!
So, yes, I am sooooooo ready for Jan. 28 and dinner at Le Cellier

We're leaving Jan 7 and there really wasn't much Christmas this year because we are taking all the kids and grandkids so that IS their Christmas! Except for the matching Mickey and Minnie sweatshirts we got from the Disney Store online...that was just about all the wrapping I did this year! I could get USED to that! But now, not only the excitement of getting ready, but the anxiety...what do I pack, what am I forgetting, will the kids all get to their planes on time, will the weather cooperate, will we be snowed in, will they be able to get there on their own (we're leaving 3 days earlier than the rest of them)...After New Year's it's less than a week and I'll be going crazy! Glad I'm not alone though...!

We have the same feeling as OP. We are leaving January 16 and will be in WDW for 8 days.DH and I both said this morning we are ready to leave for WDW. We can not wait to see BLT and OKW since this will be our first trip home as DVC members.We are also getting a contingency plan just in case it is supposed to snow on the day we are to leave for the world.

Yes!! I feel the same way!! We leave next Saturday morning at the crack of dawn!


My almost 3 yr old has been talking about "We go to Mickey's House after Christmas!!" since we got home in September. Now that we are past Christmas, he is going to be unbearable!

In the past 24 hours, I have changed 3 of our dining reservations and moved around which days we are at which parks - I can't stop thinking about it!

Christmas was wonderful, but I am like windi622 in that sometimes I feel let down when it is over. I love the smell of pine Christmas tree and I really don't like taking it down. <sigh> The good news is we still have Disney! We leave in 4 days and counting.... I am really looking forward to our upcoming visit. We are taking a late afternoon flight, so I will take the tree down in the morning on our day of departure to WDW. Then, it won't be so difficult.

It is going to be really tough when we get back from Disney as DS will be going back to college and it will be cold, cold cold (and possibly) snowy Jan.... The good news is we have another Disney trip to look forward to in Feb.
