Hi

We will be staying in Disney for Christmas eve and Christmas day and have never stayed that time of year so are really struggling with knowing where is best to book.

Everything I have read in posts on here and in the Internet just talks about the decorations and I've got from that the top choices would be Grand Floridian or Wilderness Lodge.

With it being so expensive I want to make sure I make the right choice for the family so I'm looking for some guidance on what one hotel may have over the other.

I would really love to know what kind of activities or events they have in the hotels on these days for us to do or see and if they do anything special on Christmas eve or Christmas day?
Thank you so much in advance

You might find it difficult to get a resort reservation this close. We are DVC and booked about 6 weeks ago now and struggled.

It is an incredible time to go but but very very busy and planning is key.

The resort decorations are always beautiful, Grand Floridian used to always have the giant ginger bread house but generally the events are really in the parks rather than the resorts in my experience.

I don't think you can go wrong with either one as they are both great resorts with beautiful decorations and a festive atmosphere. The WL is our favorite during the holidays as the lobby has a cozy/homey feel with the fireplace surrounded by rocking chairs, but the GF runs a very close second. With that said, the WL is going to be undergoing construction soon, so I don't know how that will play into your decision. Here is a link to a thread with information/updates on that construction:

I can't help with activities on Christmas Eve/Day at either resort as we've never been over the actual holiday, but hopefully others will be able to give some input.

Good luck with your decision :).
