Toughest age to buy for IMO :). What are you planning to get your 11-13 year old dd's?

My niece asked for: money, gift cards, shoes (Converse), wireless headphones, electric scooter, and a bean bag chair. :)

Mine asked for pretty much nothing - okay, she asked for the Super Mario Party with Joy Con controller set, so that was her big gift...so, I have been getting creative with her present ideas that I buy her myself and from her relatives...with maybe 1-2 things to go, she's getting...

For her Switch:
Super Mario Party with Joy Con Controllers (Me $98)
Lego DC Supervillains (Me $29 got in on Gamestop sale)
Switch Memory Card (Me $14)
Nintendo E-Card (her aunt - Value TBD)
Best Buy Gift Card (her 2nd aunt - Value TBD)

For Her:
Bath and Body Works Lotion and Body Wash (Me $8 - got in on $3.95 sale for her favorite scent)
The Body Shop Bath Bombs (6 - 2 of each scent $6 - got in on $1 sale)
Hypo-Allergenic Makeup Set (3rd aunt)
Totes Waterproof Boots (Nana)
Charm Necklace (Nana - no idea what she spent b/c this was her idea - I told her just the boots idea, but she wanted to spoil her more)
DC Heroes 12 Days of Socks Set (Me - $10 from Kohl's sale)
Christmas Eve Nightshirt (Me - $7 from Kohl's sale)

For Her Room:
New Comforter (Me - $15 Kohl's sale)
New Cuddl Sheets (Me - $13 Kohl's sale)

Her other grandparents have sent me money to buy a largish gift (between $50-$100), so I'm gonna wait a few weeks and see if I can find out if there's anything she wants (other than a phone, which she has to wait til high school for) and get that...she also has 3 more aunts/uncles likely to send gift cards or movie tickets, so she'll get those, too...I spent a little over $200, which was my budget for her...and I'm done, b/c Grammy/Granddad will be buying the last gifts (through me:)...

Simple but real makeup sets (no "toy" makeup) - may need to check with parents because each parent is different in what they allow at this age
Better quality headphones
Bluetooth speaker
Things for their room - they often want to change their "baby" room into something more mature about this age
Fashionable clothing/shoes - but what that is these days for that age group, I have no clue LOL
Skateboard
Art Supplies
Whatever book series they are into (if any)
More mature purse and/or wallet (with a bit of cash slipped in even better!)

My niece turns 13 two weeks before Christmas so double the gift problem! For her birthday I started her with the Growing With Grace series from Precious Moments when she was born so that is her main gift. My brother has me do the “Santa “ shopping so far I have ordered her 2 hats with holes on the top for high ponytails, a necklace with her name on it( her name is uncommon so special ordered it), gloves, and a mini backpack she wants. Her dad did pick up a salt lamp. From me I had a wooden ice skate made to hang her figure skating medals on.

for my 12 year old grand daughter:
wireless headphones
Vans sneakers
Hydro Flask

Gift card - Hollister, Pink, H+ M

iPad
wireless earbuds
instax camera
makeup
new fuzzy blanket
new wall art for her room
clothes
books
She wanted a Banshee from Pandora, and I got one at Cast Connections for $29.99! (normally $84.99)
gel pens and adult coloring books, other art supplies
iTunes gift card
restaurant and movie gift cards so she can go out with her friends
fun socks
Vans sneakers
Thrasher shirt and hoodie
new phone case

My DD will be 13 on Friday:
Powerbeats 3 Wireless Earbuds
Phone Case
Pop Sockets
Book Sets
Nail Art Stuff
String Art Kit
Pikmi Giant Flip
“Fuzzy and Squishy” things
Sims Add Ons
Earrings
She’s also asked for a desk for her room.

Did not ask for but is getting:
Upgraded iPad and Logitech Crayon

My DD is 12. It is a tough age for buying gifts! Her wish list was pretty short.

Here are some things on her list (or that I bought for her):
Mermaid tail blanket (on Amazon for about $18)
Doodle Diary: Art Journal for Girls with artsy pens (glitter, gel, souffle, etc) and watercolor pencils
Felt Letter Board or Light Box with letters
Mood light/night light (there is a cat shaped one that changes colors on Amazon for about $20 that is cute)
Slippers - I bought some bunny slipper boots that are currently 50% off from Justice
Chenille infinity scarfs from Kohl's
Flip top mittens (if she lives in a cold climate!) My DD says these are popular among her friends.
Lipsmackers website still has 40% off and free shipping for Cyber Monday week. I bought some Disney tsum tsum lip balms and nail polishes for stocking stuffers.
Ulta has a line of fun beauty products perfect for this age group called "Sweet & Shimmer" - bubble bath, shower/bath sponges in fun shapes, bath confetti, hand cream, lip gloss, etc. I bought a bunch of these for stocking stuffers too.
I also got her a few "experience" gifts. Tickets to a play (she loves drama/theater) and a gift card for a pedicure.

My 13 year old is getting...Disney Lego Castle, Lego roller coaster with motion, & 2 other Christmas Legos, bracelet maker, bath bomb maker, 2 hoodies from Abercrombie, scarf from Justice, Christmas bath stuff from Bath & Body Works, light up mirror, pop socket, gifts cards: Amazon, Target, Starbucks. She wants a new phone case but we may upgrade all our phones if we can find a good deal.

DD will be 11 in a month and has not really asked for anything for Christmas other than LOLs which she has 10+ already. We are doing Disney for Christmas /Birthday.

I might buy her a new IPAD hers is a a bit old and cracked, PJs and maybe a board game i actually like. When others ask me what she likes because they want to buy her something i say LOLs, or anything from justice or anything with a unicorn on it.

Updating, another aunt wanted a "firm" (non gift card gift), so she is buying her a board game Escape Room Game and a 2lb bag of Jelly Belly jelly beans - both should be popular (I know the candy is, b/c this kid has a sweet tooth...she liked the escape room on our cruise, and it's a single play cheap game, so hopefully she'll like this idea, too)...

DD is almost 12. And it hurt to type that.

A big set of craft paints
A twirly craft paint holder
Two huge packs of canvases
A $5 game for her phone
Phone case for her crappy phone that she looooves and doesn’t want upgraded
Pop socket make your own kit
Modge podge glue
A huge tin of resin
Water bottle for gym
Dr who blanket
Various cut pieces of under layment board for painting (scraps I have to prep)
Wood slices for painting

I still need to buy blue tape, stainless cups, glitter, spray paint, latex paint, silicone molds, and probably ten other random things from Home Depot she will love.

The only thing she asked for was beef jerky and a fancy bed pillow. I’d buy her anything she wants and she asks for jerky!?

Where did you find the pop socket make your own kit? That sounds like something my niece would love!

Love this thread. I have twin 12 year old girls and 1 wants a horse and my other one wants a new phone. But things they like are, an aromatherapy diffuser, money, gift cards. My one daughter loves red pandas so I found a shirt on Amazon. Arts and crafts, maybe a personalized water bottle. I like experience gifts, too. Go somewhere fun or do a mani pedi day! Good luck.

What about a goPro or cheaper knockoff? We have an akaso brand one that works great. I know kids love making videos.

They also make instant photo printers for your cell phone pics, I think cannon amd HP offer them. That or an instant camera would be neat.

I am putting my 12 year old niece's gift card in a gift card maze to make it more gift like and fun.
