Christmas Ideas for 10-12 month old?

My dgd has a set of foam stick-on toys for the bathtub. She has played with them since she was old enough to take a bath in the regular tub. The set she has is tops/bottoms of animals, and we mix it up. She tells me "Grammy, that's not the doggie head!! That's the pig head." They also stick on skin so sometimes she covers herself with them.
It's something she always looks forward to playing with when she's at my house.
I also second books! I like the Mercer Meyer books...my kids loved them and I still have a few.

The zoo talkers are animals that are named and make their sound when placed on a certain spot on the toy.

The animals can go in and out several doors and down a slide.

It's an excellent toy for learning animals and their sounds, even before kids start to talk.

Agree with Little People. My kids loved the barn and we still take out the nativity set at Christmas.

I agree, any of the Little People Christmas sets.
And Cheerios, that's always a big hit, a box of CHEERIOS! :lmao:

A box and wrapping paper. :)

As a "been there, done that, now raising teenagers mom" DON'T go overboard with toys for three reasons - 1) they aren't likely to get played with much at that age, and will get outgrown quickly. 2) you don't want to set yourself up for the Dudley Dursley syndrome (last year I got 30 presents, this year I only have TWENTY NINE! And that gets really hard to deal with as they get to an age where they don't want too much, but what they want is expensive) 3) there may come a point where you look back at Ready's post and think "fewer Little People, Legos, Nerf Guns and Video Games and more money into 529s would have been a better idea."

It also isn't a bad idea to set yourself up for a pattern. Ours is jammies and one gift from Mom and Dad on Christmas eve. A big "Santa" gift, plus a number of smaller gifts which will ALWAYS involve one book and one game.

I agree on the box :goodvibes

My DDs would take the big boxes and make houses out of them. Kept them entertained for hours.

Our DDs got a lot at Christmas between us and our families. Remember all those little pieces hurt when you step on them. Younger DD loved Polly Pocket but those things hurt your bare feet.

My daughter was 10.5 months last Christmas. I read the title and thought of two things:

FP Laugh and Learn Home- she LOVES this and her 2 year old brother did too. They play with it daily. I bought this used actually, which was the way to go- already assembled, a lot cheaper and she'll never know. You can buy replacement balls, key and mail from FP if you find a good used one that doesn't have those things.

and

Little People Zoo Talkers (although, I think they may be discontinuing this, we noticed the extra animals were on clearance for $1.50 on the site a month or so ago and we stocked up for sticking stuffers). She plays with this daily as well. This was actually a gift for my 2 year old (at the time) son, but he doesn't play with it as much as she does.

Then I came in the thread and saw these were suggested- but they are such good toys!
