OK, I know it's not even Labor Day, but I've read your posts... I'm not the ONLY one here who plans ahead:santa:

We're planning our first family Disney trip next summer. My son will be 10, my girls 8 and 5.

What can they get, either from us or the Jolly Old Elf, in preparation for the trip?

I was thinking of gift cards in their stockings, fanny/ backpacks for the trip (suggestions???)

What else?

I wanted to post now so I have time for lots of replies :rolleyes1 and then have time to order.

Thanks!!

You could pick up some wallets with mickey or minnie on them and slip some Disney dollars into it.
You could also have t-shirts made up for the whole family.
Check out the disneyshopping.com they have an outlet section, you might find some cute stuff there.

What a fun idea and will build anticipation for the trip (that is not hard though!). Here are some ideas:

* bathing suits & goggles
* Disney digital camera or disposable camera
* photo album / scrapbooking kits/supplies
* Disney mix stick
* fanny pack or cinch sacks (much lighter than backpacks) so they can carry their own stuff at the parks
* autograph books (order online or make yourself) or plain white bucket hats for autographs
* stacks of 2 quarters and 1 penny in mini m&m tubes for the penny press machines
* Disney movies or cds
* Disney games for Leapster/computer/gameboy, etc. if they already have the player
* sunglasses and hats
* pajamas
* guidebooks for kids
* chapstick/suntan lotion/ hair thingies

I love the idea of wallets w/Disney dollars!

You could get them a pin or two w/ a lanyard to get their pin collection started - or bucket hats to put them on.

an Epcot passport book w/ how to say "hello" and "Good-bye" in the different languages (we use our autograph books for this as I usually find larger ones w/ more pages/stories/places for pics and dedicate a couple of pages to Epcot)

I'm taking my dds to the princess tea as a huge surprise and want to give them princess dresses for Christmas, but am thinking I'm going to wait until the morning of the tea to make it extra-special (and so the dresses won't get ruined in dress-up play before then)

Disposable Disney cameras (Walgreens puts them on sale every so often)

WDW planning book for kids

Pal Mickey - my girls LOVE him and play w/ him EVERY day (they each have one b/c I got a great deal on them, but you could just get one) - would be a more expensive gift, but is something the whole family would enjoy. I want to try to find some more outfits for ours as a Christmas gift for the girls.
