We will be going there this week. Do they do holiday parades at any of the parks? What kinds of things are going on? I was thinking of doing the MVMCP, but just don't know if I feel like it is worth the extra $200 it would cost my family. Please, any input would be appreciated.

There is no right or wrong answer to this question. Yes, MVMCP is wonderful, I love it so much that I am looking forward to going twice this year. We did this twice in 2003 also.

Depending on the age of any kids that might be going, how long your vacation is, what night of the week you can attend, and how much pixie dust you can afford, the answer will vary. Generally, I tell anyone that thinks that MVMCP might be fun or worth the money, to GO! But, again, the answer for you and your family depends on a lot of variables. If you decide to go, I hope you enjoy it very much! Maggie

Because this is a hard ticket event, what I do is plan this night as a "ticketed" event. Meaning, we plan DTD, putt putt or the Boardwalk, etc. during the day and save that night for a trip to the Park. We save a day on our Park Hopper tickets (because they never expire) or if we have to buy park tickets then we don't buy for that day we're going to the party.

I've been wondering the same thing. I've read that it's a great event, really special to be there to celebrate the holiday. But on the downside, to get your money's worth, you need to be able to "go the distance" on the hours, meaning that you need to stay until at least 9, 10 pm or later. I have a dd4 who would never be able to make it that long and enjoy herself, so we're playing it by ear. We have a few non-park days that we can play around with. If dd gets a good nap during the day and there are tickets available, we just might be able to do it! Maybe we'll see you there!
